I feel like a moron asking this but I was taking (trying to take) photos of DS at baseball camp today and could not see on the screen of my Olympus C740 UltraZoom. Tried using regular viewfinder and could BARELY make out shapes due to bright sunlight. What's going to happen when I try to use this at WDW next week? HELP! What should I be doing/resetting/looking at to make sure I'm getting the shots I want?

You can go in to the camera menu and see if you can brighten the LCD screen. Or cup your hand over the LCD. Or you can try a product like the "Hoodman" http://www.steves-digicams.com/hoodman.html . Almost all cameras that are made to use the LCD as the primary viewfinder have big problems in bright sunlight. It's the nature of the beast.

Also try to shade the lens.

Hoods on DSLRs help with this but on Point and shoot cameras there is no hood. It wont just help with the preview it actually helps the image.

not to contradict but i did notice on ebay delkin makes some hoods for a few p& s cameras...don't know if it would work for either of these particular cameras or not ( i was checking the prices on delkin site vs an ebay store that is an authorized delkin dealer..his (for my rebel xt) were about $10 less and he said he can get some if you need a different model than what he has, if you can't find the store, pm me and i 'll send you the name)

point and shoots are under... who'd have thought...universal /point and shoot :smooth:
