View Full Version : Free Dining Plan--Where are you Eating?

08-04-2006, 06:54 AM
The beginning of the free dining plan is right around the corner. If you have free dining, did you make your ADRs? If so, where are you eating?

I've changed my ADRs many times  because I flip-flopped park days. My final list is

Sci-Fi (dinner)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Le Cellier (lunch)
Ohanas (breakfast--my kids love Stitch)
Garden Grill (lunch)
Mama Melroses (early dinner)
Tony's Town Square (lunch).

I was leaning toward The Plaza instead of TTS, but my kids like Lady and the Tramp and they asked for Tony's.

Two of the cs meals I hope to get are the schwarma platter in The Tangierine and the Garden Galley Salad at Columbia Harbour House, though that would depend upon whether we're close to those places at mealtimes.

My kids are looking forward to the tie-dyed cheesecakes at Pop.

All Dinners for TS.
Spoodles, California Grill, Chefs de France, and Coral Reef. I haven't picked for sure my CS but leaning towards Tusker House, Pinocchio's Village Haus, Norway bakery, BC Marketplace, and Boardwalk Bakery. I have a sweet tooth, so my decision on CS is determined by who has the best desserts. I was looking forward to Boulangerie Pastrie, but I've heard they're pretty restrictive.

Yay for Free Dining! Actually, we consider dining a huge part of our WDW vacations, and had decided on these restaurants almost two years ago when planning DS's birthday trip!

Breakfast: Chef Mickey's for DS, Crystal Palace for Tigger-freak DD
Lunch: Sci-Fi for DS, Le Cellier for me (dinner was completely booked)
Dinner: Whispering Canyon (trying again after 2002 disappointment), Boma for all of us - our absolute *must* do

Counter Service: Kids want Pizzafari, I want Flame Tree, and we'll wing the rest

Snacks: I *must* have rice cream, and I'm sure we'll be picking up some Mickey rice krispy treats!

I was looking forward to Boulangerie Pastrie, but I've heard they're pretty restrictive.

Hmmm, I was wondering about this. DD has a thing for France as well as a major sweet tooth, so it looks like I'll plan to go OOP for this one.

We are doing a lot of places for the first time. This is our second trip on the dining plan ( this one free*, last one we paid for ). Last trip we were not really impressed with a couple of places we went to.. Including: Crystal Palace and Sci-Fi ( probably a better lunch than dinner place ). Hopefully, we are better informed on this trip and made better TS choices. CS for us is just whatever looks good at the time we are hungry..no real planning.. :teeth:

I do like the fact that the snack credits will be a lot more open this time than last time when it was basically: popcorn, ice cream, water or coke. I think we spent almost all of our snack credits on water.

Hello! My sister hasn't been to Disney World since 1989, and I want to make this trip special for her. She always planned our trips when I was younger. She's 17 years older than me and almost like a second mom! Also, it's my daughter's first trip. She's two years old and loves the princesses and Mickey Mouse.

Does it look like I have made good choices? The breakfasts and lunches will be out of pocket. I didn't want to schedule too many signature restaurants, because my daughter will be dining with us. For instance, our Brown Derby dinner is at 3:50 p.m. That's right after her nap. If she gets upset, we will just ask for our dinner to go, but she's usually very shy. I'm sorry to miss out on Citricos, California Grill, Flying Fish, and Jiko's...maybe next time!

Dinner--Rose & Crown (United Kingdom)
Dinner--Restaurant Akershus (Princess Storybook in Norway)
Dinner--Kona Café (Polynesian Resort)
Dinner--Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge)
Dinner--Les Chefs des France
