from what I read it's a temporary (if that's possible) locking.
I told everybody not to let me post before 6 tonight but I felt that I needed to come back and check on our trouble free zone. :guilty:

I am a little lost also.....where else am I going to avoid work?

Hello, all! Well this has been a weird weather day in Utah. We've been having a heat wave the last little while, but last night thunderstorms moved in. It rained all night long, which cooled us down a lot, but it was still raining this morning, so I couldn't walk today, bummer! I took the kids to the library this morning, and as we were on our way home, it began to rain again. Then the wind picked up. It got really bad, and I just heard on the news that the hail and rain were so bad about 15 miles south of us that a small airport was completely destroyed. People's homes have lost roofs, trees have been uprooted and all kinds of damage has been done. I'm grateful we were spared that, at least!

Now, it looks better outside. Katie has a friend over and they are attempting to make "fairy cakes", so I'll be popping in and out making sure they don't destroy my kitchen. I don't mind the mess I know I'll find, but I'd hate to have total destruction!

Yup. We are all ok, and the kids want to play in the puddles. I don't think so, not yet!

Fairy cakes are very small cupcakes. Katie is a big believer in fairies, and I told her that she and her friend could have a tea party today. They found a "fairy ring" of mushrooms in our yard and are convinced that the fairies came to visit last night. So, they are making a batch of the tiny cakes for her tea party, and then they are going to leave some out for the fairies tonight. Should be fun! Guess I'll have to see what I can arrange for them outside, tonight. Maybe some fairy dust will be left behind. Hmmm....

I'll post pictures of the cakes when they are finished!

he was but he had the same amount of down days on than off and without insurance it became to costly to pay for something that wasn't going to do a hill of beans good because he wasn't willing/able to work on changing the behaviors ( when taking the pills you also have to work on behavior mod. also). I am so mad at his mom because he had classic signs of ADD growing up and she just didn't do anything about it....they lived in places he could have/should have gotten help in. She said I just figured it was just his personality.

Abi showed signs from a very young age of being ADD....thankfully we modified all of our behaviors so that it's not noticeable.

You bet it counts!!! Just drizzle some powdered sugar glaze over the top and sprinkle it with edible glitter or sugar and there you have it! Less work than making them from scratch, too.

Another friend just showed up, so I guess the tea party is getting bigger. At least they'll have fun decorating. The cakes are in the oven, so I'll know if the recipe worked in 10 minutes. I didn't have any self-rising flour, so I ended up having to make my own. Hope I added enough baking powder! Cross your fingers!

I really don't even like ice cream, believe it or not. We've had Moo Bars in the freezer all summer and I got addicted to those and the crunchy ones. Last weekend I was craving orange sherbert.

I think I'll ask Brian to bring me home an Icee and a box of Moo Bars.

Hi everybody!

I feel like a rat shutting it down,it is temporary as far as I'm concerned. :) I just felt like things had to be stopped before it got really ugly.

I'm happy to see y'all in here chatting nicely. :thumbsup2

In the midst of all this I was getting my mother showered and ready for a Dr. appointment this afternoon...that wears me out like you wouldn't believe! OY! I was looking forward to this appointment so I could get the ball rolling with getting some help here in my home with her a few times a week.Dr has to approve things, blah blah.Well I got her ready and fed,Joe gets home from work,he's goes with me because I can't handle it by myself. We're about on our way out,Joe comes back in...the water hose busted on the car.GREAT! We only have one vehicle so we can't go. :guilty: I have to call the Dr reschedule, can't get a late appointment again until next Tues. Now waiting on our friend to take Joe to autoparts store.

Erich starts school in 12 days ,I'm involved with stuff there and getting phone calls from school about things for next weeks registartion, this is the teachers week back,so my headed is spinning a bit...no that's a lie...it's spinning ALOT today!!!!

Did I mention it feels like the gates of Hades outside today to top it all off!! I'm going to hate to see my power bill at the end of the month! :scared1:

:scared1:

Man, you really do have a ton of stuff on your plate! I'm so sorry about your car! Totally not what you needed! What grade is Erich going into this year? Is he excited?

Wish I could send you all some of the fairy cakes. They turned out really cute out of the oven, and now we're waiting for them to cool down so the girls can ice and decorate them. If anyone wants the recipe let me know! It was really easy, and the girls didn't destroy my kitchen.

I got the recipe out of a darling book Katie picked out and her grandma bought her. There's so many cute "fairy" recipes. She's going to have fun with this one, I can tell!

Now there's a cool hubby! Wish I could do that, but DH would go through the roof. He likes a good meal on the table that doesn't come from a fast food or pizza place. I'm actually trying out a new recipe tonight: Chicken with Paprika cream. It sounds good, so we'll see. I can pretty much guarantee that my kids won't like it, though. Oh well, they know where the bread and peanut butter are kept. Actually, they're pretty good about trying new things. But they don't usually like it. Deep sigh!

My sister has 2 of the Star Wars cookbooks. They are so cute! Erich would love them. Christmas is coming. Anything that will get my kids excited to help in the kitchen is a good thing!

We have prepaid for a time share for next year for the first 3 nights and then the girls don't know it yet but we are going to stay at POP(I think) for 3 or 4 nights, they think we are just doing the time share. I am also moving it up to June...if next July is as hot as this past one I don't want anything to do with it.

Okay, if I can't have them currently, maybe I will feel better looking at the ingredients!

Margaritas (I'm not kidding - these are lethal!):

This recipe makes a nice-size jug:
Minute Maid 220 ml lemon juice (in the frozen juice section - it's in a box)
800 ml tequila (Jose Cuervo Gold, preferably)
400 ml cuantro
300 ml grapefruit juice
Splash of sugar water/bar syrup

Mix, and serve in a salted glass!

Salsa:
2 cans Rotel (you'll only need 14.5 oz. so I recommend one extra Hot and one regular, drain off juice)
1 can whole peeled tomatoes (14.5 oz. plus the juice)
1 tbsp and 1 tsp jalapenos (canned, diced, not pickled)
1/4 cup yellow onion (diced)
1/2 to 3/4 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp sugar

In food processor place jalapenos and onions. Process for just a few
seconds. Add Rotel, tomatoes, salt, sugar, and cumin. Process all
ingredients until well blended, but do not puree. Place in a covered
container and chill.

YUMMY!!!!

Deep sigh!

Is it Chicken Paprikas? That's a Hungarian dish that my grandmother used to make for me. I am definitely craving it now over her dumplings (they were made from a noodle dough, not a baking powder-type dumpling). My husband doesn't like it (calls it "toxic waste"), but that's because he doesn't like sour cream which is in the sauce. That is definitely going on my fall menu planner!

My mother is Hungarian and we make that quite often...I LOVE those dumplings!!!
