View Full Version : To the women (and men!) of DIS CON, what are you wearing?
I just pulled my suitcase out of the attic for DIS CON, and now I have a huge problem: what to fill it with! What will you be wearing to DIS CON? I just ordered a DIS CON sweatshirt, but that's the only thing I know for sure I'll be wearing. What are you wearing to DIS CON? T-shirts, sweatshirts, or a combonation of both? Disney or non-Disney? Lime green or otherwise?
ok...I have bought three new sweaters, and three new pairs of pants. and one set of jeans(will bring sweats and a pair of kahaki's too)...I also got a DIs Con long sleeved shirt and a sweat shirt...NO lime green anything here thanks...Love the DIS but hate that color on me....lol
Bringing 1 pair of shoes and my broken in sneakers. Two pairs of shorts and my bathingsuit which I am not sure I will have the guts to wear...lol. One coat and one zippered hooded Disney sweatshirt....gloves, scarf and headband.
I do not have any DISNEY t-shirts that are not enormous on me right now, so may need to buy one or two..hehehehehe!!!
One beach towel, socks and undies and that is it...not counting the toiletries, camera and video.
oooh oooh and my trusty laptop

I don't wear t-shirts because they look horrible on me :( so I won't be wearing any Disney t-shirts or DIS-Con t-shirts. I do, however, sleep in t-shirts, so I'll have a couple of those. :)
I think I'll bring some shorts outfits and some pants outfits, a couple pairs of jeans, a couple sweatshirts, and a hooded windbreaker.
Gloves and scarf too!
No bathing suit here.....nope, no way!
One pair of sandals and one pair walking shoes.
Lots of socks and undies. ;)
One rain poncho.
Oh yes, and my Mickey Santa Hat of course! :) :D
Nothing Lime Green here either.......except my button from Pat, and perhaps a ribbon or two. ;)

Oh darn. :D
Lady and the tramp stuff . I have a whole wardrobe including a lime green shirt. I never go to disney in anything other than lady and the tramp and some mickey mouse. Even had a daisy swimsuit once upon a time (not anymore so don't get your hopes up)
Ok, here goes:
Tee shirts-all Disney
sweatshirts-all Disney
jeans
shorts and tanks (will check the weather channel online just before my final pack to see if tank tops and shorts are required)
Pj's
lots of socks, and undies (I double up on these-I believe in being prepared)
bathing suit, towel, cover up
gloves, scarf, hat (Disney)
2 turtleneck shirts and 1 long sleeve shirt (again, Disney)
sandals (for pool, yes-they are Disney)
1 pair of slip on shoes (I'll be wearing my sneakers on the plane)
Santa Mickey hat, Minnie ears
poncho
hooded Mickey jacket (just in case)
*my lime green shirts are tank tops, so weather will decide if they come along or not.

You guys are so organized, I'm impressed!
I don't know what I'm bringing yet. I'm still struggling with the fact that I can only bring one suitcase! Do they have any steamer trunks on wheels with those pop-up handles? ;)

Do not feel bad Snowwark..I am not ready yet either, but the last two times I was there at this time of year, it was cold.. so I will prepare for that and also prepare for some warm weather too(0h please, oh please), sneakers, sandals, lots of socks, my wonderful Roots jacket I bought in Canada last year, nice and cozy, gloves, scarf, lots of t shirts, no lime green, jeans, shorts.. but I will be very casual except for my Tiara..;) :D
Kim, actually, they sort of do (make a steamer trunk size suitcase). Mine is the extra large suitcase with handle and wheels! My kids call it the refrigerator!!:p It's enormous and sometimes the airline does tag it as heavy and sometimes they don't. I've never been charged extra for over size or anthing like that. So, I take that suitcase, pack an empty one (the size of a carry on bag), and bring a carry on. I'm all set! :) :)

We have one of those. With the drawers on one side and hanging space on the other. It makes a great christmas ornament organizer until you outgrow it anyway. My suitcase is huge. You could fit the kitchen sink in there. It rolls forward and backwards. It slices, it dices, it make julienne fries. Oh sorry got carried away there. :p It must be time for lunch.

You ever notice how women obsess over what to wear and pack, weeks in advance. And Guys say "I am leaving tomorrow I had better throw something together" :D :D

Hmmm...I think I should buy a bigger suitcase. Mine is just medium sized, room for my make-up, but what about my clothes?? :p
I don't want to get something that's too difficult for me to manage because............big confession here,

DH & I will be bringing ....our perfectly matching tee shirts & sweatshirts, of course. There's good reason for that board name, believe me! The exact list is continually being revised, so at this point I'm leaving it open to change. We will also have a variety of shorts & jeans, depending on how the weather forecast looks as we get closer. We were at WDW the following week last year & it was really cold, so I want enough warm stuff in case we need it. Of course I wouldn't mind doing a little shopping.......hmmmm, maybe I should leave some of those sweatshirts home! :jester:

Yes Pat its true. My friend Klombar gave me some good advice. "Just throw everything in a big garbage bag" I think I may go that route- but use a heavy duty glad bag. Of course none of this packing stuff until 10 mins prior to leaving for the airport- What ever is clean gets to go:D

Uh-Oh....browsing the new Disney catalog.....I may end up with some Disney sweatshirts yet! :earseek: :) :earseek: :)
I'm just looking at the Weather Channel's website, and it looks as though it'll be in the 70's-80's for the next week. If this is any indication of how the rest of the month will be, I'll be dressed in shorts!
Pat, we don't obsess...........it's an organization thing.;)
Debi, if that's the case, I'll be one happy camper-70's and 80's would make me very happy. I'll be wearing shorts and tank tops for sure!!!!!!!! :)
Patrick, I can see you know, dragging a garbage bag up to check in!:p

All you have to pack for the 70s, Tia, is some loud polyester shirts, some platform shoes, and lots of fake jewelry. I thought everybody knew that.
Ooooooooh, Freak Out! (Le Freak, C'est Chic).
Don't even get me started. As you can see, I do well enough by myself......

DH and I like to pack light so we each only have to do a carry on (at least on the way down). We like to hit the ground running! No pun intended!! We each pack an extra collapsible case for the trip home (do you think I shop too much....NEVER). We usually go in the fall so the weather is warm and we pack mostly shorts, but we have to rethink packing this time. We also usually do some laundry mid-week (thus the reason for packing light), but this time we will be staying in a 1 BR at BWV so we will have a washer/dryer available all the time. I know we have to pack some jeans and since it is cold in PA at that time of year we will have our matching Mickey coats with us. Then the usual other stuff, sock, undies, etc. etc. I forego makeup (hope I don't scare everyone away). LOL I used to pack that, but started getting a dry skin condition last year and haven't worn makeup since. More room for souveniers now!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Guess what I found today?!?!?! I went to Ames to pick up something to make a lime green large glove for DIS-Con. As I was passing the ladies section, I spotted Disney wear. Well, there it was a lime green Eeyore sweatshirt!!!!!! I kid you not! Needless to say, I bought it! There's one more sweatshirt to add to my suitcase. :D :D
As for my "glove", I found apple green felt and lime green plastic canvas. So, I'm not sure which one I'm going to use yet. Maybe I'll make it in each material and then see which one works best. Test: wave gloved hand wildly over head a zillion times, and see how many people come running! :p :p ;) (Thanks, Ray, for the great idea!)

Sounds like we have a seamstress in our midst, huh Barb? In that case, I need a whole new wardrobe in a couple week's time, K? See if you can fit that in to your busy schedule.....
