View Full Version : Tesco have NOT replaced Bridge/Cresta - and a goodbye

You might remember that Bridge and Cresta are pulling out of the Tesco Clubcard deals scheme (the way I pay for my DLRP holiday). They said they may find a replacement for August - but Tesco have confirmed to me today that this had not happened. So it looks like no more DLP holidays for me (at least not in the forseeable future).
I had hoped to used my current accumulated points for a holiday at DLP next year but all holidays through Cresta/Bridge have to be booked by 31st October, so that looks out of the question.
Therefore I will be saying goodbye to this board :guilty: I have enjoyed my (short) stay here but don't really feel that I can actively participate much when I don't have anymore DLP trips to look forward to.
Happy Holidays to all of you

Thats a shame.
Perhaps you could sell your tesco vouchers on eBay. link to an auction.

eBay seems to make about 50% value.
Would give you something towards it.
They also offer Eurotunnel / Euro Star on tesco.

Although I don't have a trip this year I'm living vicariously through others. Hopefully you'll pop in from time to time :)

hi, that is a shame, hopefully you can find a way to have your trip.
Maybe you could save your vochures for wdw as virgin holidays is apart of the scheme.

I'm sorry your trip hasn't worked out :grouphug:

I echo Reid on this - I really hope that you will still pop in and "see" us from time to time. Even if you aren't planning your own holiday, any help and advice you can give others for theirs is always welcome here. :goodvibes Or if it makes you sad that you haven't got a trip planned for the forseeable future, we will be here to try and help you through the bad days :wizard:

What a shame. :sad2: Hope you will get something sorted.
I couldn't bear the thought of logging on the DIS after my first Disney holiday was over but after a few months I soon found I was wending my way over here again. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say you will be missed, I really hope you will pop in to say hello from time to time. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone.
I have checked out the WDW details with Virgin - waaay out of our price range at the moment plus DH needs some convincing about a 5yr old on a long flight!
I will keep saving my points - who knows, Tesco may come up trumps one day. And yes, I will pop in from time to time but will no longer be here regularily (hey that's one less competition for the upcoming Trivia's!LOL)

Have you checked out the Airmiles site Quack ?, they have DLRP holidays on there, although I don't know how they compare to the Cresta deals.

Like you I'm disappointed that Cresta etc. have pulled out of the scheme, especially as this was the first time I was planning to use it.
Cresta hols don't have to be booked until 31/10/ so I'm hoping that by that time the brochure for April onwards will be out and we can get a trip in for the start of the 15th year celebrations. :)

If that were the case, that would be wonderful. At least that way I could plan a summer trip instead (we always visit in c-c-c-old weather!). But I thought that the April brochures don't normally come out until January? I may ring and ask them actually. I did check out the air-miles site. Just couldn't manage to make any sense of it!
Sorry to hear your news. I hope you do decide to return to see us sometimes. Your opinions are still valid even if you haven't been and you will probably find you can contribute something.
