Got 70 minutes in with the Treadmill which puts me at 613/1400.

Saturday we walked around the Columbus Zoo for about 4 hours. I'll take credit for 60 minutes there b/c it wasn't intense and there was a good bit of stopping.

Today, 30 minutes on the treadmill doing interval training.

So that puts me at 372/800 :)

Well, we just got back from Niagara Falls! We walked so much. And good walking.....hills and at a good pace too. Put me down for another 360 minutes!! WooHoo....I lost 4 pounds while we were there too!!

I start school tomorrow too so, believe me, I am right there with you! I am sure we can both do it though. And you're welcome! :)

I can't believe how well everyone is doing! Seriously, you all are doing a fantastic job! My dd starts daycare tomorrow since I am going back to school and I have a feeling she is going to be overly tired when I pick her up tomorrow evening so I doubt I will get on here tomorrow to update but I will try. I have been updating at least once or twice a day but it may be less now but don't worry I will still update as often as I can. Heck, I may be able to do so from school. Keep up the great work everyone! :goodvibes

Whoa, I am way behind with my posting. (Too busy making all those reservations for my upcoming trip to DL -- whoooooohoooooo! :banana:

Here are the updates on my walking totals:
Saturday the 12th -- 10 miles (160 mins)
Tuesday the 15th -- 5 miles (80 mins)
Wednesday the 16th -- 7 miles (110 mins)

So my new total is... 1065/1500! Yippee!

Keep racking up those miles, everyone!

Please add 150 to my total (I've been at the cabin -- lazy days of summer...) bringing me up to 560/1800.

Simple math tells me:
1800-560=1240
August has 31 days, so 31-17=14
1240/14=88.6 minutes per day will allow me to reach my goal. So, from here on out I will exercise 90 minutes per day (I like to exceed my goals, I guess!) and hope that it works!

Lots of people reached the halfway point while I was gone. Congratulations to all of you!!! Keep it up!

I am now at 990/2000. I will finally cross the halfway mark tomorrow. Actually, if I'd realized I was that close eariler today there would have been 10 more min done today. That's the drawback of not adding up your totals as you go along. At least I'm doing a little better with that than I did last month. I think I went most of the month without adding my totals. No wonder I missed that goal! :earseek:

Now, I just have to get pushing if I expect to make this month!

Oh the joy of school starting..... I've been so busy at work (school) then I had a catering job last night (lots of prep work on Thur night) so I only squeezed in 10 min each thur and fri. I am at 700/900. Feels so good! I am training for a 5k in September. Was just planning on walking it but am trying to get back into jogging for it so we will see. I am upping my workout times so hopefully that will help me get ready for the 5k and then.... keep going!!! Now, if I could only get my eating more in check!

I keep forgetting to update this thread (even though I updated my sig). I haven't gotten nearly enough gym time in to make my goal this month (which I did set pretty high, lol)

As of today I am at 600/1500. That is counting only gym time, not walking the dog, or swimming, or hiking, or any of the other active things I do every day anyway. I don't feel too bad though, since I have lost 5.8 pounds this month so far anyway. :teeth:

I figured out yesterday that I need to do 100 minutes a day for the rest of the month to make my goal...so today I did 105! 60 minutes in the gym (elliptical, weights, crunches) and then 45 minutes walking laps in the pool. :cool1:

Good news too, my foot is healed :) no more dr visits, no more being oh so careful (ok so I will stiil be a little bit careful). However, my tendon's on my toe are very tight so my big toe sticks up slighly but hopefully with some more time it will loosen, if not and it's bugging me I can have it fixed with an other surgery...YUCK!

Catching up on my posting again...

5.2 mi on Thursday the 17th = 80 min
3 mi walking on Friday the 18th = 45 min
4.5 mi biking on Friday the 18th = 40 min
15 mi walking on Saturday the 19th = 240 min

That adds 405 for a grand total of 1470/1500.

I've got a 16 mi walk scheduled today (Arrrrrgh!) but the good news is that I should actually reach my goal a little early this month. I am beat today -- too many chores yesterday and too little sleep. But, those long walks are required if I want to do the marathons I've scheduled.

Yesterday, I walked 7.63 mi in 132 min and then spent 3 hours walking around the fair. I am only claiming 90 min as exercise. That brings me to 1112/1500.

wow. what a fun 45 mintues.

45 minutes of interval training on the treadmill while listening to the streaming audio of the Dave Ramsey show! :)

I upped the intensity today....instead of 3 minutes slow/1 minute fast, I did 2 1/2 minutes slow/1 1/2 minutes fast. Whew!!! I'm feeling energized now!!!!!

My total now is 689/800 :)

I did 47 minutes with Leslie and then 13 minutes on the elliptical to even it up (so glad to see someone else doing that, too..CJK!! ;) ). My total is now 1385/1400.

I'm going to finishe the month of August with 45 minutes. However, my foot was injured/booted and I only recently got permission to go back to the gym. Hopefully next month will be better.

Hey, everyone! I don't have time to update the totals just yet but I will do so tonight for sure. I am so impressed at how well everyone has done! Congrats to everyone who has (or will by tonight) made their goal! Congrats to those who may not have made their goal but still got some min. in this month! That is an accomplishment regardless of whether you made your goal or not! :)

I will update the totals one final time tonight. I will admit I have not done any exercise since this weekend! I have been busy with school and really tired and drained this week. I also let the fact that I had already made my goal for the month allow me to get lazy these past few days. I am ready to get my butt back in gear now though before I get too far behind! I will be working out this evening sometime and will update totals tonight! If you want your final total added to the list, please post it by tonight (preferrably before 10 p.m. CST). Thanks for letting me host the challenge this month! I hope I did an okay job at it! Great job everyone! You are all so inspiring and motivating! :)

I started off the month OK, really I did! Then the desire to sit in the air conditioned house set in and I'm ending the month way below goal - at least as close as I can figure it since I did not do very well at keeping track of what little exercise I did do. As close as I can figure it I am at 1350/2000 min. Not good at all.

I've already signed up for Sept, and I have a lot more outdoor activity planned. Now if I can just manage to be disciplined enough to keep track of what I do then just maybe I can get myself back on track!

I made it! I made it! :cool1: Not by the huge margin I hoped, but I hopped on the treadmill tonight and knocked out a quick 30 minutes just to make sure I pushed that 1470 minutes all the way up to my goal of 1500!

I'm certain I wouldn't have done that (with the craziness I've dealt with the past several days) if it weren't for you folks -- THANK YOU! :banana:

Well, we ended up going out this evening and it was late by the time we got home so I never did get that final workout in for the month. Thankfully I made my goal this past weekend though!

Anyway, the August Exercise Challenge is now officially over. Congrats again to all of you who made goal...especially those of you who exceeded your goal! Some of you did so well you might need to up the min. for September! ;) And if you didn't meet your goal, don't feel bad! Any exercise is still something wonderful and you should be proud!
