Updated Info on upgrading SSR add-on promotion 1day pass

Some may remember that myself and another DISer here had questions regarding using the value of the free 1-day passes we were given through the SSR add-on promo. My guide had told me that I could use the value of them to trade in for park hoppers. I also called OKW and told a CM in guest services what I had and asked if I could use them to upgrade and she said yes, I could use them one ticket for one ticket.

When I arrived I tried to upgrade 3 1-day passes towards 3 5-day and the GS CM at OKW told me that it couldn't be done. That the 1-day passes had no value since they weren't purchased. Since I had called and spoke with an OKW guest services CM before we left and my guide told me I could upgrade them I asked to speak with a manager and he too said those passes had no value.

To make a long story short, you can have those tickets upgraded, but apparently you have to do it at the parks guest services office. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until later after we'd used the 1-day passes. At the time, I thought since OKW was a DVC resort, that they'd be more familiar with those SSR promo passes.

So for those of you hoping to upgrade your SSR promo 1-day passes, you'll need to do it at one of the guest services at the parks, not the resorts.....or at least not OKW.

I thought all ticket upgrades had to be done at the parks or downtown Disney guest services, not just the promos. Resort desks also don't handle APs at all.

I guess I would have assumed as much, since all pass upgrades and exchange of vouchers must be done at guest services in the parks.

The resorts cannot handle any AP or PAP transaction - as already mentioned, those must be done by Guest Relations. In additon to the GR booths at the major parks, there is a Guest Relations desk in the Downtown Disney MarketPlace.

OP was not trying to do anything with an AP or PAP - wanted to use cash value towards 5 day MYW tickets. It seems all upgrades must be done at the parks.
I'm still trying to find out if my unused 7 day PHP has cash value that I can use towards a 10 day MYW premium ticket. Some say yes some say no.

No, I wasn't trying to upgrade an AP, just the 1-day tickets. I wish the CM's at OKW would've told me all upgrades had to be done at GS at the parks or DTD instead of telling me that they have no value. We ended up just using the tickets for a MK day before I found out I could upgrade them at the parks. We ended up only getting to go to the parks 3 days instead of 5.

I just wanted to post so someone here wouldn't make the same mistake I did.
