I want to do one day shopping on my next trip and thought of going to Belz instead of my usual (closer) Premium outlets.

I haven't been there for about 5 years or so and wasn't that impressed, have they changed since the Refurb??

Also, what is the best way of getting there without a car? A taxi would be pretty expensive I think...

I was there in June as well and found it depressing.Pretty grotty looking and nothing very different to before.
Save your cab fare and stick with premium outlets!

Belz Designer Outlets as was seems largely unafffected by the takeover. Stores like Fossil, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Saks Off 5th and I believe Vans are there now too. It is on the left going up I drive before you get to what was Belz Factory Outlet World.

I thought Belz (or Prime 1) was good.

Mall 2 is pretty much shut but most of the good shops are in mall 1, the designer mall or in one of the annexes.

:guilty: We found it disappointing too. We were there beginning of July and a lot of the stores are shut or closing down- It was really sad. We took the I-Trolley from Seaworld to Belz- It took one hour though! Never again! :sad2: On the plus side, Festival Bay, next door was quite good. Overall, I prefer the Premium Outlets so Id say stick with that!

Belz has been taken over by Prime Outlets and I would imagine will undergo many changes over the next year or so, to be honest until this is complete there are many better shopping malls within the Orlando area.

We found it good last October but whilst being renovated i am sure it is a turn off.

It's a shame, and also a surprise, how much Belz has gone downhill. I remember it as a thriving enterprise back in the 80s, although just putting it like that gives an indication that it would need freshening up a tad.

Thanks guys, in that case it will just be the usual Premium Outlets then!

Which is good as I know where everything is and can get round quickly leaving more time for the parks!!

As a yearly visitor to Orlando, Belz has been going downhill steadily for the last few years...

Similarly, the Mercado on I-drive went downhill but much more quickly....

Yes, it's just across from the Crossroads, about a mile or 2 if you drive directly and not via the turnpike.

Is Belz the one that had the Universal outlet store - is this still here after the refurb?

Got back from WDW yesterday! Belz or Prime or whatever it is called (?) is all but closed. We went one evening, and it was a real disappointment. I think I bought 1 pr of jeans from the Levis outlet. Everything else closed temporarily. Real let down.

Yes it was there last year, not there now though.

Belz used to be one of the "must do" items on our list, but in recent years it has become a ghost town. Wouldn't bother.

As someone has already said, Mercado is a very sad place nowadays. Just too much competition.

Love the Mall at Milennia now! :cool1:

Just been upto Belz this evening. One Mall has all the guts ripped out for refurb. Other has about 10 empty units. Called at Disney discount shop and spent $175, some good stuff in.

Can anyone tell me where I can find a swim wear shop. If belz is rather low down and I don't recognise the names on the website, I used to use a fantastic swim wear shop in there which had the most amazing 2 pieces and I always save and buy them from there.

I was there two days ago and they have started demolition on Mall 2 which was the one right at the end where the carousel used to be. Mall 1 had a lot of shops closed - we only went to try and get some cheap pins at the Disney Character Warehouse.

I agree with most comments - it's not worth a visit.

It's long gone but I did read somewhere that it moved to the Fun Spot place near Sweet Tomatoe - next time we are at ST I'll look and see if it's there

I still plan on going when we go. I like the timberland shop at the outer annex
