Home Depot Alien Green Paint Chips

I've been looking everywhere for one or two of those green paint chips from Home Depot, but all of the local stores seem to be completely out of them. Any ideas on how I could maybe make my own printout of the alien green mickey that will be in the right shade of green?

Home Depot, and as far as I can tell, only Home Depot, sells a series of Disney licensed indoor paints. The display for these paints have sample cards for all the colors in the shape of Mickey. People form the DIS boards have adopted the color Alien Green as an identifier to hang off your backback or stick to your hotel room door.

As an after thought, I wonder if the sales of Alien Green paint are suffering at all due to all the DIS'ers swiping all the samples :confused3

And like everybody else has offered, I have 3 Home Depots in town, so no shortage of the little buggers in any color. (I turned some red ones into laminated luggage tags)

I made my own last year, the Home Depot "ears' are small. I wrote my screen name on my "ears" last year and placed them in my resort window.

I know you've already had several offers, BUT - if they don't work out for you - I Work at Home Depot!!! I'll be there at 5:00a.m. tomorrow, I'll grab some. I've been wondering... has anyone ever bought the Alien Green paint???

My fear is that they'll discontinue the paint color because everyone "considers" it (by picking up the paint sample) but nobody buys it!

I suppose if they're going to change the paint sample to rectangles (gasp!) we could buy a quart of the paint and create our own endless supply with some heavy-duty card stock and a mickey head cutout (does Archivers have one?)

This is how I used my green Mickey's.....
For my DC's I.D. tags on their shoes ( put my cell # and DH's cell # on it w/ a black sharpie, then contact papered it, hole punch, lime green ribbon, tied it to their shoe(lace face)) Yes, my DS who was 9 at the time loved that!!)
Hole punched, tied w/ lime green ribbon, tied it to the back of my WDW baseball cap.
Hole punched, green ribbon, tied to all of our luggage( yup, my DH loved that!)
Hole punched, green ribbon, tied to my DD stoller(she didn't mind- she might only be 3yrs old, but do I see future DISboarder? :teeth: )
Santa decoration in our hotel room window, and he was holding, you guessed it, a lime green Mickey.

Now it would be cool to keep passing around a lamenated one via the front desks at WDW hotels and just see how many hotels and people the Alien Green Mickey visits. It could go around with a register book and people sign in who have it with their screen names and where they stayed and maybe a little message.

Maybe that's just a crazy thought but I would definately be willing to start it.

I went to my aunt's house today at lunch time and she had a set of Mickey paint chips that she plans on using to scrapbook pictures of our upcoming trip.

During my recent trip to HD, after picking up the items I needed, I went by the paint chip sample board and felt as if everyone in the store was watching me and was going to blow the whistle and swarm if I took a couple of the alien green paint chips. :rolleyes1 So, I took a few various colors and about 3 alien green chips. We need about 4 more to tag our luggage and have one for our room door. I can always try sending the fiance to get some....he always says "anything to make you happy..." :goodvibes I love the cutesy names of the paint colors.

I went to one of our larger home depots today and didn't see any listing for alien green in the disney paint section. They are also switching over to square samples...is there a specific number for this alien green, or another name that is similar.

Good news! Our Home Depot in Bakersfield Ca. had been displaying the retanglular chips for a few weeks. But on today's trip, I noticed that the whole rack had been restocked with the head versions. I snagged a few more for the DW, and I am starting to think that I could possibly picture some alien green triming in the office of our home. I guess after being by assulted by the color for so long now while planning our trip, it is starting to grow on me.

It's a paint sample color card that your get when you are deciding on which color to paint your walls. The Disney paint collection, carried by Home Depot, uses these cards, but in the sape of Mickey's head.

They now have an alterior use!! A CULT following...(including me)

OK, I just made a trip to our local Home Depot and snatched up a few Alien Green Mickeys. Now I need a few more ideas on what do do with them - please?! I am going to laminate a couple (back to back) and attach them on my backpack, and maybe I will try the "hotel room door" idea. But, what about the indoor, deluxe room doors? Might be staying at CS or WL (my REAL wish!).
