To answer today's question - definitely some signed art work.

To help out Patsy, have you thought about putting the little guy in an angel type outfit? You know, just a little something around the tush and some wings? Shayla could even hold the wings behind him so you didn't have to put them on him.

With Halloween right around the corner it should be easier to find wings now than later. And then find a silvery or gold or white dress for Shayla, some fluffy white blankets for a back ground and viola, pretty picture.

Ann Marie, that sounds cute to me, but some of Kevin's friends would laugh :sad2: .
They have so many cute outfits for the holidays out there for girls, or even some cute two-three piece outfits for boys, but they are all geared for the colder weather.
Thank you for your suggestion.

For my first born we had an outfit that was a two piece, short sleeve white shirt and a red, green, white plaid short jumper. He had the cutest chubby legs that we loved to show off so even in the winter my little work shorts inside. I found it at speciality boutique that is gone now, but I'd be willing to look for something along those lines if it was what you were thinking.

Look out! I'm getting good at this! Got it in my sig on the 3rd try! :rotfl:
THanks, Patsy, for the cute Halloween pic!

Here's my 2c on boys clothing...... :crazy2:
There are soo many cute outfits for girls at all times of the year. Boys--they get stuck with blue, green, red. Sometimes yellow. T-shirt, polo, or oxford. Pants or shorts. So boring.

I was thinking of dressing my boys in semi-matching outfits this year for Xmas pics. Jeans and polos in thier fav colors. Then just having them put red/white striped scarves on, and taking the pic outside by the pine trees.

I don't have a WDW pic for the first time in a few years to use. :-(

mommytotwo
10-12-2006, 01:27 PM
Yes, boys clothing comes in mostly a basic colors :(.
I will have to see what the kids will match in together or something that won't really look weird if it is their everyday clothes.

Easy one
it would be another Lab

either black or Yellow

as for the name i would have to meet it first to see it's personality

Another dog, but no more Siberians. We love ours, but know we got lucky as she is not typical of her breed.

I'd like an inside dog, perhaps a Pekanese or Hot Dog dog as my youngest calls them.

Don't know what we would name it as it all depends on breed, sex and personality. But I am partial to Montana.

I'd love another cat, but my mom won't go for it. One day I'd like to get another dog that would be 'mine'. Something small, maybe a Chiahuahua or Fox Terrier.. something along those lines. I'm not sure what I'd name it though.

What is your most favorite restaurant, and what do you order from there?

If you were to pick a resturant to come to your area, what restaurant would it be?

Pooh67_68
10-14-2006, 06:16 AM
Right now not even a restaurant, just a fast food joint. KFC
My favorites are the popcorn chicken, or the famous mash bowl.

The one I would choose to come to this area or near here anyway would be TGIFriday's.

I haven't been on all week. If we got another dog it would be another Pekeniese. Favorite restaurant (LeCelliar at disney) Non disney- I love chipolte and Red Lobster. Thanks Patsy, I used your directions and Scoutsmoms jumping Micky to make it work!

My most favorite restaurant is a local place called Rossi's. I love everything in there, but usually order stuffed shells.

The restaurant I'd like to move to my area is the Rainforest Cafe (in DTD). It's not that the food is so great, it is the atmosphere. It is so themed and fun in there!

Mmmm.... What restaurant to wish for....

LeCellier :thumbsup2

So many are here (or are returning) because of the casinos, but a good non-Disney one would be Brennan's (New Orleans)!

Sadly, I can not pick any one favorite restaurant, but I can pick the one I wish would open up here in Colorado: Garduno's of Mexico! It is an Albuquerque chain that has now expanded across the state and into Arizona and Nevada but has not come north yet :(

My family is really getting tired of all our requests to bring their red chili sauce and salsa up with them whenever they come to visit us, lol. :thumbsup2

Thank you DISers.
I had finally gotten my internet connection back.
The earthquake had hit all the Hawaiian islands, at around 7:10am.
It was around 6.3-6.5 in size, and they said that it was the biggest earthquake that we had since 1983.
As for some of the other islands, or parts of this island....there is no electricity and water.
I will keep you updated if there is any change.

We are still cleaning up the things that broke, and the damage that it had done to our house.
Luckily, I was still in bed this morning with the kids and holding Brandon. One of Kevin's shot glasses broke and shattered right next to the bed, and the items from the shelf above had all fallen down. If I had put Brandon inside of his pack and play like Kevin and I mentioned last night, he would have gotten hurt.
The bathtub doors collapsed from the slidings, and luckily Shayla's stepping stool was there so catch it so it didn't break, we had several plates, mugs...break, more then half of my Halloween Yankee Candle candle decorations broke :(, the light ficture that was hanging in the living room ceiling feel and had shattered.....

It seems like there has been no one had gotten hurt around here, so that is a major plus. They had evacuated some people from the hospital here because of some structual damage at the hospital. This afternoon, we had also felt a short aftershake, but we are okay.

We are still loaded with MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) from Katrina! We have our generator to power the pump for the artesian well that we get our water from everyday. What really scares me is that you don't get any warning for an earthquake! At least we can prepare for a hurricane.

We could probably survive just fine for a week on the stuff I have right now. We have pop-top cans of ravoli/spaghetti stuff, soups, boxes of poptarts (you know breakfast cookies), chips, crackers, 100piece box of slim jims, we have to drink bottled water so we have a month supply of that, juice boxes and cans of soda. Yup, nothing healthy here, but we could live off it.

Well even if I didn't have electric, I still have a grill to cook on. (it has a side burner) So I can make soup, Kraft mac and cheese, peanut butter, buttered noodles (always keep some butter in a dish on the counter), tuna fish (I can eat it with out mayo.
Also being that I am in Pa. and it is cold now, I could take a few things out of the fridge, put it in a cooler and stick it outside.

When we had back to back ice storms and were without electric for a week, I still was able to get things from the fridge or freezer. Just open it and take out what you want (quickly), the other items will be fine for a while.

But not having electric is not a problem now, as after the ice storms John went and bought a generator.

If an earthquake were to happen where you live right now and you could not open the refrigerator or the freezer, what items do you have to eat or snack on?

I woke up to the phone ringing telling me that my friends house had caught on fire around 2:30 this morning. The whole upstairs was gutted. The worst part was we could not find them!! The where taking to the local hospital then (we found out after searching for an hour!!) that my friend was flown via helicopter to a burn center and her 14yr old son and 2yr old grandson were taken to the same burn center via ambulance.
The 2yr old is fine but is staying the night for observation. The 14yr has some burns to his nose but he'll go home tomorrow too. My friend has burns on her face and is being treated for smoke inhalation. She'll be there a few more days.
I walked through her house after I came back from the hospital, It's really bad. I tried to salvage what I could for her. It's funny but the only thing the 14yr old asked about was his $100 Jordan sneakers he just bought Saturday :rotfl: And guess what ..I found them!!! Unharmed!! They weren't even wet!! He's gonna be thrilled!
It really has stopped me in my tracks. Please everyone check your batteries in your smoke detectors..if you don't have them get them!!
I'm off now to buy some clothes for the little 2 yr old to wear home.

:grouphug:

Thank you everyone.
What island was your friend on? The island of Oahu didn't have power since 7:30 since they turned off all the electricity. Then the electric company had slowly turned it on from the afternoon till the evening.

She is on Maui on the Army base there. I finally heard from her and they are fine. They woke up to it that morning and luckily are just fine.

Glad you and she are both fine. :)

Never had an ice cream truck any of the places I lived. But when we would visit my grandmother, there was an ice cream truck that came through her neighborhood.

Don't remember what they sold, but I always got the vanilla ice cream bar with the chocolate covering.

I have a quick update on my friends (the ones with the house fire). They have all been released from the hospital. Currently they are staying at a local hotel thanks to the Red Cross. They are now scrambling to find a place to stay in our town. We live in a SMALL town, no hotels or apartments or anything. Just one blinking light in the center :rotfl2: I think they are getting a travel trailer put on their property..at least that was the plan this morning.

I would choose to sleep, but I have to make scrap swap items this weekend.
I'm not sure what the rules are for mailing alcohol products across state lines. I think if you use UPS it is not a problem, but I think USPS frowns on that kind of mail. Once upon a time, I belong to a wine of the month club. Used to get some exciting wines one from California and one from anywhere else every month. But they had to be delivered via UPS. Like I said, that was along time ago and I don't know what the rules are now.

I've never done the foam ones. Every year I look forward to carving the real thing at my MIL's. She has a Bonfire/Harvest party every year on the last Saturday of October. Me, Dh and our 3 kids go down early in the day to help set up. We carve pumpkins and put candles in them, this lights the path back to the bonfire. It's fun..I love squishing my hands in the pumpkin!!! It's so gross and fun!!!

I found mine at Michael's (I think that they are their generic store brand of the Funkins foam pumpkins). I paid between $10 and $20 dollars on them but I went and picked up a few more this morning and they are now 50% off so I only paid $5 each for them. They come in small, medium and large sizes.

I like to decorate as soon after Thanksgiving as my work schedule permits...although, as I am currently snowed in at my house today I kinda want to start now, lol! I definitely think my Mickey lighted wreath would cheer me up from this dreary gray snowy day! :thumbsup2

He is doing good. He weighs 15 pounds...how much does your little one weigh?
Brandon wakes up 2-3 times a night which is an improvment, but he usually goes to sleep from 10:30-1:30.

My little monkey is close to 10lbs. He is such a little runt..lol It is so weird b/c Ethan was always on the very big side and Landon is just so tiny!

OOOHHH Christmas talk. I am a Christmas nut!

Last year we decorated the 2nd weekend of November. This year we are planning for the 3rd weekend (weekend before Thanksgiving). We love having the house already decorated come Thanksgiving.

We usually bake things like cup cakes/cake, sausage balls, cookies, etc.. and we play tons of Christmas music and movies and get the house all decked out. I love it!! I am sooo looking foward to it.

We just did our annual scavenger hunt. I put clues all around our property and the kids each take a turn solving them to find their loot! They love it! We do this instead of trick or treating..we live out in the boondocks. After dinner we will do our annual homemade pretzel bake. We make Amish soft pretzels from scratch. The kids are still out playing even though it's getting dark. Luckily it's beautiful out here today!

My kids are too old to dress up anymore, but I did get to have some fun today at school. We were allowed to wear costumes and the entire school had a parade for the kids to see each other's costumes. I was a Grecian princess. :wizard:

I haven't been here in awhile! I started subbing as an aide at the boys' school. Altho soccer practice is finally over, due to the fact that there are no lights at the fields and it's dark by 5:30! So at least we're home in the evenings again.

We got a TON of candy last night. There really weren't very many ToTer's around here so they loaded Andrew up with candy and then gave more to share with his little sister who was busy munching tootsie rolls in her stroller.

Note: Tootsie roll stains DO come out of Cinderella dresses, LOL!

We always offer to trade Andrew a small toy for most of his candy. Since he is not a big candy kid, it is easy for him to give it back to me. He is getting some new Matchbox cars instead. Right now he is sorting through his candy pile to choose some pieces that he will be allowed to keep.

Oh, we had a red Power Ranger and a little Cinderella at our house.

 We're all sharing a bug here, too. I've started subbing as a teacher's aide in my DSs school, too, so I'm not around much.

My favorite thing to eat on Turkey Day are the sweet potatoes--I think because that's the only time I make them!

My inlaw's stuffing takes a close 2nd, but like Debra on Everybody Loves Raymond, I am not allowed to have the recipe! :rotfl2: I ask for it every year, and get some lame excuse. One year it was "there are too many ingredients for you". :crazy2: I really can cook, not just saying it to look good here. Funny part is I do have the recipe, (they don't know) but like seeing what excuse they come up with next.

Thanks for asking, Bobbi.
We are safe. I live on a hill. But the road to town is between two forks of one of the rivers that floods. It is a mess down there, but the road is usable.
There has been a lot of destruction :( Very sad to see.
Clean up is going on but it will be a slow process.

I'm glad that you are safe, but it must be hard for you to see that devastation. We lived in Lower Makefield/Yardley, not near the Delaware, but when the Delaware floods, it does affect the whole community.

We've lived in this house for 20 years and this is the 4-5th time the river has gone over the roadway :( Not fun if we have to drive around, but doable.
But this is about the 3rd time we have seen the massive destruction and the slides (which are still occuring) :(
And....it is always in Nov.
the rivers have all receded now, even though we are still getting rain, but the slides are the big problem now.
