I received a flyer from DC yesterday and it has a save $50 code on it. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will send it to you. It says offer expires 12/17/06.

ETA: It is definately good towards a dolphin swim. I am not sure if a non-dolphin swim is eligible for $50 off. It's worth a try!!!

You just saved me 100.00 US dollars on our swim with the dolphins at discovery cove! DC, took $50 off both my son and my reservations. My balance is 23.00!

Holy Cow....THANK YOU! :Pinkbounc :woohoo:  :bounce:

Do you know until when these codes are valid?

Charleyann
07-23-2006, 03:11 PM
they are good until Dec 17, 2006. I had mine already booked, but I called Discovery Cove and told them I wished to use their promo. They took the $100 of my balance leaving me just $23.00 to pay!

Good luck and hopefully your dates fall into these!

Thanks for the quick reply. My visit is in September, so that's ok. But is there a deadline for making the reservation?

Charleyann
07-23-2006, 03:25 PM
Most people book 3 months in advance. (that is what the reservation specialist recommend) That being said....if they are not filled up, then I guess you can book. You can go to the discovery cove website and book, (do not hit pay button) and put your requested dates in. That will show you the days filled up.

Enjoy.

Yes, I know it is best to book it as soon as possible in advance. But September is slow and when taking a look now, I see that ALL dates in September are still available, so there's no rush. I was just wondering for the reduction.

jcanary

it does not say that it has to be booked by a certain date. Just that it expires on Dec 17.

I'd definately be interested in one of those coupons... However I have already booked my tickets, so I'm probably out of luck :( Any ideas if it can be re-booked with the coupons?

Well I just checked and the day I was originally going still has vacancies... So if one of those coupons are still available, I'm hoping I can cancel and rebook... It's for the 26th of August so I'll have to do it in a day or two or pay a cancellation fee...

Hi! I did this today. I called up and asked about the promo, and they said they could just change it for me. however, the day I had booked didn't have any openings, so I would have to pick a new day. For 100 savings, I was ok with changing days :)
They won't let you do both busch gardens AND sea world, so we could only get one of those. However, with the savings we have, we're still coming out 100 ahead (250 less overall with 50 off each person and 30 each for the extra ticket, plus tax....and then 140 for tickets to busch gardens again...110 savings!!)

However, I had to call her back because I wanted to make sure with the family that it was ok to change dates (since the lady said I had to). By the time we got it figured out, I was unable to call because it was past their closing time. I didn't want to lose out on the coupons, so I actually rebooked another vacation on the same day I had before (Even tho the lady said that day was full) and cancelled my original one. It worked, and I got the confirmation!

I am so excited to go, and so excited to save money thanks to Cindy B :) Thanks so much!!

That's disappointng about not being able to do BG and SW :( Which is exactly what I had booked... I just did my sums and I would only end up saving $10 each...

This was my original plan... The Discovery Cove package with both parks for $279 and a Power Annual Pass for USO / IOA at $120 = $399...

If I have to rebook a package that will give me similar entry options I'd have to get the DC with BG for $249 and a 4-Park Flexticket for $190 minus the $50 saving ends up being $389...

Basically we were going to do a day in each park and then go back to whichever parks we though were best... So USO, IOA, DC, SW and BG in that order... I can't find a ticket option other than Power Annual Pass or the Flexticket that will get me back into USO or IOA...

Oh well... Just means some other lucky person will get to save some money :)

Are there any left?

We are not going until next year but we would be booking DC before the end of the year.

The code is "RETURN".

The brochure says, "When you tell friends about your Discovery Cove experience, they'll want to try it for themselves - and when you give them this card, they can save $50 on their own visit.* (Offer expires December 17, 2006. Restrictions apply.) Be sure to mention that this exclusive offer for past guests and their friends features new all-inclusive meals, snacks and beverages throughout the day, as well as a consecutive seven-day, unlimited-use pass to either SeaWorld Orlando or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Book your visit to Discovery Cove Now. Visit DiscoveryCove.com or call 1-877-4-DISCOVERY or 1-407-370-1280 and use promo code RETURN."

Hope this helps. Try the code first, and if that doesn't work and you need the card, feel free to PM me.

Just some information here - I had already made a reservation for Aug 26 and paid in full. But, I called up and told them I had a code to use for $50.00 off and they changed my reservation and credited me back $213.00. I didn't even have to give them the code.

A number of people have PM'd me that they were told they needed the card. I have already sent my card to someone who needed it, so I have none left. Hopefully those of you who still need the card will be able to get it from one of the good people on this board!

When would they need the card? If I make a booking online and I pay, surely they can't ask me to pay more when I arrive and don't have the card?

I was told the card was not needed. when I called. They just brought up my reservation and applied the credit.
I then decided to just pay the rest of my balance and they are sending the new confirmation to me.

Has anyone found out if the code can be used toward a non-dolphin swim package? Is it best to book through DC? I am thinking about going in September and I see all the dates are still open. Thanks!

Charleyann...I really did not want to publicly put out the code that I gave you. If that was my intention I would have put in in my first post. It is for reasons like this that these codes disappear and will not be available. I am not mad but I really did not want it out there for the world to see...only the ones that are truly interested need it.

Someone spilled the beans previous...so, I assumed it was ok! Likewise, YOU were not the first person to give me this code. I did thank you as well as the others. Sorry to bust your swollen ego!

And DC

will end the code when the park meets quota... so you shouldn't worry about the world finding out, as those who use the code are going and it's not going to waste!

Not to worry , cause I'm not mad at you either!

I just used the code online, and it works for both the Dolphin and non-Dolphin swim packages (bought one of each). My only concern is will I need a card when I get there?

Thank you to the people who posted the code. I couldn't have afforded this without it. :teeth:

Well, I'm back. The code worked fine and no one asked me for the card when I got there. I thought Discovery Cove was wonderful--definately the most relaxing (only relaxing?) day of my vacation. The dolphin swim was pretty tame, and even my 8 year old said he could skip it next time if that meant the difference between going back and not being able to afford it.

One weird thing: my son, who is a pretty good swimmer, hit a wall physically and suddenly couldn't swim. He'd been swimming nonstop for hours and was using a vest instead of a wetsuit. There were lifeguards everywhere so he would have been okay even if hadn't been near him, but I basically had to hold him up as we swam out of the coral reef. Just a heads up to anyone with kids. I was shocked because he went from happily exploring (for hours and hours) to having a hard time staying up in a matter of seconds.
