I lived in Warren Towers. :faint:  :crazy2:
Then, I lived in the Dean's House on Bay State Road. 22 hour quiet hours. Yeah, right!!!! But, at least there were no stalls in the bathroom. You had a toilet and a shower and a door and privacy. There were 3 on the floor for 15 girls. The entire place was girls, execpt the 2 boys who lived in the basement. They had to be there because, in MA, it's illegal to have more than 8 unrelated women living together without a dude. :rotfl:

I only lived in the dorms freshman year (Sproul Hall, where I met now DH!), and then moved to a sorority house for two years, then an apartment with some of my friends. Great fun!
One of the dorms was called Dykstra! I believe it was torn down and is now all suite type dorms. When I went to school they could only guarantee housing on campus for Freshman and Sophomores, now there are so many more dorm rooms that you can live on campus all four years (of course now it's much more expensive so there's less demand for dorm rooms)

Howe House my freshman year, then Glaser House for the remainder of my stay at college. I believe that they are tearing down Glaser House soon to make way for more contemporary college housing. We actually had a dorm reunion of sorts last June. The university opened up the dorm for us to have a party. As much as I enjoyed my college days and living in that dorm, I could not get over how much that place looked like a prison.

I registered late for my freshman year (got an unexpected full-tuition scholarship), so I was put in the "left-over" dorm the school wanted to close. It was called West Hall officially, but dubbed the "virgin vault" due to no visitation privileges. The school closed it at the end of the semester and allowed all residents first choice of the other dorms. I ended up in Yoakley Hall, which was an upper classman dorm at the time, for the rest of college.

Ah, college days!
In 1969, at State University of New York College at Cortland, I lived in Shea Hall. This was the year that the Mets won the World Series :thumbsup2 , and we were thinking of sending them a telegram, saying "Congratulations to the men of Shea Stadium from the men of Shea Hall." We got drunk instead.
In my sophomore year, I lived, for the first semester, in Cheney Hall, one of the campus's two co-ed dorms. (This was 1970 - the other was Degroat Hall.)
Half-way through the year, I moved off campus. I lived on Groton Avenue, but don't remember the number. (I filled in for someone, and wound up in a place that I didn't want to be.)
My other off campus addresses were 15 Hubbard Street and 69 Maple Avenue. (On the last one, we claimed to have looked for a house with that number. :rotfl: )
What really worries me is that I can't remember the names of the graduate dorm I lived in when I studied for my MA at the University of Tennessee :sad2: . It was on Andy Holt Blvd, and was an old dorm, because it didn't have air conditioning. I'll probably remember it at 3am tomorrow morning.

That's what they told us. However, it was MUCH better to have 50 females living with 2 guys stuffed in the basement like rats. :rotfl: My college was co-ed, so I think they had to follow the rules. Of course, ALL the guys on campus wanted to live in the basement of the Brownstones that were all women on the main floors. :goodvibes

I attended Slippery Rock University, and I know of at least 1 other alum who posts here. Are there any other SRU grads lurking around?
(Yes, there really IS a Slippery Rock University!)
Freshman year: Founders Hall
Sophomore year: Harner Hall
Junior Year: Founder Hall (as a resident advisor, so I had a private room)
Senior Year: Harner Hall (resident advisor again--private room)
When I was a resident advisor, we were assigned which buildings we had to live in, and I ended up in the same old, same old.
We have not been back to SRU since about 15 years ago. I know it's changed a lot. I'd like to go back and walk around the campus sometime, plus hit the outlets in Grove City.

Freshman year: Sylvan
Sophmore year: Butterfield
Then off campus for the remainder. Butterfield was way too traumatic. Some of the people that lived there were seriously whacked. One example off the top of my head: a thunderstorm started during dinner, and almost everyone tore all their clothes off, ran around the dining room naked, and then outside for a naked mud fight. Not the most appetizing sight when you are just trying to eat dinner!

Jennings Hall - Freshman year (summer, I started early)
Murphee Hall - Freshman year (fall semester)
Jennings Hall - Freshman (summer, yes I missed Spring semester, shhh).
Off Campus Apartment - Sophomore Year Fall/Spring/Summer
Buckmann Hall Co-op - Junior Year Fall/Spring/Summer/Fall

My Semesters all screwed up because of the semester I missed and then attending every summer. Anyway, I think that is a close breakdown. :rotfl: I graduated two semesters late (an additional summer and fall semester, but I guess when you really think about it, it was ONLY one semester late as I missed a semester). My undergrad career was at the State University of New York at Albany. I graduated in only 3 years -- had some AP credits, did summer school at SUNY Stony Brook.
There were Five Quads -- the four uptown quads near the main campus (Indian Quad, Dutch Quad, Colonial Quad and State Quad), and Alumni Quad downtown. (undergrads usually did not want to live on Alumni Quad.)
Freshman year I lived in the tower on State Quad -- I don't remember the name for the tower, everyone just called it the tower. real fun evacuating the building every time some idiot pulled the fire alarm in the middle of the night (which they did quite often that fall, as the Yankees were in the playoffs and the World Series that year.)
my two remaining years at the school I lived on Dutch Quad -- I think one year in Van Rennsaelier (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and one year in either Ten Eyck or Ten Broeck.
for law school I lived mostly in an off campus apartment.
Crownhart Hall - freshman and sophomore years
Off campus - last 2 years

DS lived in Bruce Hall all the time he lived on campus. Moms, imagine this-bringing your "baby" (he's the youngest) to college over 500 miles away, so you're feeling down and nervous to begin with. Then you look at the trophy case in the lounge of the dorm you're hesitantly leaving your son at, and you see a big trophy "Bruce Hall-Champion, Oatmeal Mud-Wrestling Tournament, 1999." This Mom was about ready to say "Don't bother unpacking. You're coming back home with us!"

Yes, but many years ago (1966-70). Hubbard was brand new when I lived there and we had no telephones for the first two months of the year  Killed the social life.
Is Jessie Doe all class levels now, and is it co-ed?
I wish there were no telephone lines in Hubbard still. It would stop the issue we have with credit card companies calling at 6 AM :furious: I knew it was new somewhere around then, because my mom started there in '74 and she says it was fairly new back then
Yup, Jessie Doe is all classes and co-ed. Seems to be predominantly upperclassmen (lots of juniors this past year) and a lot of athletes. They now use good ole Williamson and Christianson for the all freshmen dorms. You couldn't pay me enough to live in either one. Alexander is also all frosh I believe

Another Rock alum here!
Freshman & Sophomore years: North Hall (first semester 3 per room, second semester 2, second year 3 per room)
Junior & Senior years: Kraus Hall (single room both years)
They are doing so much building up there right now. Founders is gonna be history soon as is Dodds I believe.
Rock on!
