O.K., O.K.
I know that I have been critical in the past about Universal’s Annual Passholder Policy and how they intitially dropped the customer service ball in regards to this small, local market but I just received an offer from AAA South that more than makes up for any of their neglect of the past. AAA South is offering a Two Park Annual Pass for $99.00 to Florida Residents!!!!
There are no Blackout dates and it is THE Two-Park Annual Pass to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Free Parking, 10% off Meals etc. Pass valid one year from redemption and it must be redeemed by February 28, 2002.
Merry Christmas from your friends at AAA South!

This is a good deal. If you go only 2 days, you've broken even.

Naturally, my kids and I already GOT our annual passes in August...but since my husband is coming down for 2 weeks in Nov. (we have this long-distance thing going on...right now) I plan to have him get his FL license and we're going to get in on that deal! He won't be here permanently until May probably, but even then, he'll have 5 full months of use in addition to using a couple of days in Nov.
Super deal!!!

I had just put out a thread on this!
This is a great deal, and while I was at AAA I had her book me three long weekends at HRH for $99.00 a night! Yahooooo

Does anyone one know if a Florida resident can purchase a $99.00 AP as a gift for a non-Florida resident? Mom keeps asking what I want for Xmas. LOL

No, because when you make your purchase at AAA you only get a voucher. When you arrive at the park you will then have to show your Florida ID to get your picture annual pass.

I called the AAA Orlando office and they said any AAA member can go into their office and buy they pass. You do not have to be a AAAsouth member or florida resident.

Can the first person who purchases the voucher let us know what it says on it? Like for instance...if it just says AAA 2 park annual pass or if it says Fl resident annual pass - if it says Fl resident, then they would probably ask for proof of residency at Universal when processing...The ad in the AAA newsletter doesn't actually mention having to BE a Florida resident anyway...now I'm curious if other AAA's are selling this pass as well...probably not, but it might be worth looking into...

This quote is straight from the AAA South Magazine
"Offer valid for Auto Club South members only, proof of membership and/or residency required"

You can also check out AAA's website. I saw the deal there, but I didn't read the fine print.

#1-FREEDOM TO TRAVEL SPECIAL OFFER
11/1/2001 - 1/31/2002 Part 1. AAA members may purchase a Universal Orlando 2-Park Annual Pass at an incredible price-$99.95 plus tax. The Pass provides AAA members with unlimited admission for one year to Universal's two amazing theme parks-Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure-all for the cost of two single-day tickets. Parking is included. This offer is only available at AAA, NOT at the gate.
I called the Orlando office and explained that I was a Washington St resident and they checked and told me that all I had to do was show I was a AAA member in one of the AAA south offices and they would be able to sell me the pass. Im going in less than 2 weeks so I guess we will find out.

Oh great...I hope that works...we'll check with AAA when we get to florida...I hope that we can get the good deal also.
Well, I'm sure most of you really don't want to hear this but...I did some research today. My sister Tina (say hi to her if you go there) works at AAA in Branford CT. She checked with her super who also called a super at AAA south. They say this $99. deal is only for AAA south members. So I'm not sure who in the Orlando office said it was okay & maybe they didn't understand, but I would hate to have someone think they could buy the pass or buy the pass then get to US/IOA and not be able to use it. I looked at the web site from AAA south & it does have a passage about Florida ID etc...it's not right under the special but is listed. So this is the info that i got today, take it for what it's worth.
Just thought I'd bump this back up since someone strarted another thread about it so they woud see all this info.

I called the Orlando office again today and spoke with someone different (didnt get a name) and asked if she knew about the US/IOA AP deal and told her I was a AAA member who lived in Washington. She said that ANY AAA member is eligible for the offer and all you have to do is come into the office, show your card and they will give you the deal. Im probably going to give it a shot, if anyone else wants to call them their number is (407) 894-3333.

My question is a bit opposite....I am a Fl Resident...but not a AAA member. Anyone know if you must be a member to buy?? If so would a relative/friend be able to purchase for me with their membership or do I need a AAA card to turn my voucher into a pass at the gate???

Well, you have to show your AAA card to get the voucher. I suppose they might ask why the name is different on the voucher from the card. If you have to buy a AAA membership it's still a great deal!

I've never purchased a voucher for an AP, but I know with Disney, vouchers don't have names on them...does AAA put a name on the vouchers? Anyway, I would think I could buy vouchers for my kids, and they're not AAA members...just a thought. I plan to buy one next week, for my husband, so I'm hoping it won't be a problem, but I'll post after I get one.

I don't remember what the voucher looked like but they did ask for all the names, ages & our address. I did buy my whole families.

Ok, I called one last time and talked to "Bobby". She said the 2 park annual pass for 99 bucks was a special open to all AAA member but you can only buy it thru a AAA south office. She said it was a to promote florida tourism and it was an offer that a lot of out staters have taken advantage of. hope this helps.

Good, I have many friends that would love to take advantage of this offer. I look forward to hearing back from you. I'll feel better knowing someone got the passes this way.
I know GA was also included in the south deal, Adrian,I'm glad you also got a name.

A quick note: Just returned home to Washington State from Orlando where my my son who posts as "AdrianB" purchased the $99 pass deals and used them, well at least 1 day before we left for home Saturday morning. Was with him at the AAA office in downtown Orlando. The office gal said their had been some confusion but any member could purchase them but only at their office.
He can add more if he wants when he gets home, was on his way down to a football game in Miami today and won't be returning until later in the week.
BTW does anyone know if unused days on a Hopper Plus Pass can be donated to any organizations to be used by say kids in need or anything like that? We only used 3 of our 5 days and will not be coming back again. Just curious.

TankerJo-I'm not sure whether you can donate the passes to anyone but you can seel them on ebay in the Auction for America w/ proceeds going to 9/11 Fund. I might ven buy your passes by providing you proof of a donation to Give Kids the World. If interested, e-mail me with info on your passes at RSharp219@cs.com
