well.

first you need to find the link to an icon you like. photobucket or google is usually a grand place to start.you get the url for the icon which would look something like this: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b12/MidnightsDragon/Icons/lj27.png

to put them into your signature:
go to user cp
click on edit signature
type in: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b12/MidnightsDragon/Icons/lj27.png

but without the spaces!

your end result should be: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b12/MidnightsDragon/Icons/lj27.png

obviously, the image from the link would be of your choice, but this is just an example.
