that are very comfy - I'm in need of a good pair that both looks decent and is comfy and was wondering where to look (I'm in Guelph) and what brands you all recommend.

Tried some Berkinstocks and the toe 'ridge' didn't sit right for my foot so was uncomfortable.

And not crocs b/c they didn't fit my foot right and were just too ugly for me to handle!! :lmao:

I have had luck with my rockports....have had a couple different styles and always been lucky. There is a store In Fairview, Kitchener not sure about Guelph. ALso in the mall is Walking on a Cloud....other name brands as well but some good options. I am a leather type sandal girl...tried the sporty strappy kind like a teva and they NEVER fit me right. Birkenstocks--forget it, so uncomfortable.

Crocs??? NOT A CHANCE!!! will not even consider them.

I have worn Merrell's for the past 2 summers and they are great! They are rather pricey but my feet really, really like them!

They have a lot of cushion and come in various styles and colors.

You can wear them with jeans or with a skirt - I think they are the perfect sandle.

Try Walmart. They have Dr. Scholls leather sandles. They are comfortable and surprisingly stylish. They also have a second brand that I can't remember the name of but they are also excellent. DD needed a good pair of sandles with support after her cast came off and the doctor recommended Walmart for these shoes. He said there wasn't a better shoe or deal anywhere. I have tried her sandles on and they feel great.

Look for Timberlands and rockports and the new Columbia and Nike ones are also quite good and very comfortable. They also don't look like your kids made them out of playdough LOL...

I agree with Columbia... my DW and I bought some Columbia sandals, and they are the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned, period. I'd never wear a pair of crocs either... they look rediculous IMHO.

My DH loves Columbia and I have Nike which I bought at the outlet store. Great support and wore them through entire Nov 10 day Disney trip!!

Thank you for saying this. I felt like I was getting choked by plastic with all the croc threads on the Disney Tips board.

How about Teva, Keen and my favorite, Merrell.

I own these and they are very comfortable - best if you have a wider foot.

These are fabulous. I brought two pairs with me to WDW last April and my friend borrowed them for a day.....well, she never gave them back! She fell in love with them. She now owns 3 pairs - including mine.

My husband bought a pair of Keen sport sandals recently and he loves them. I think I'm going to buy a pair too, even though they were a bit expensive. He said they were comfortable and they seem really durable.

Any type of "Rare Earth" shoe you find at Walmart is VERY comfortable. I bought some for one of my trips to WDW four years ago when I broke my toe. We stayed at the park from open to close and I was fine. :thumbsup2

I really like my Merrills also but my favourites are my Mephistos. But I do have problem feet and I can put my orthotics in my Mephistos. I have never worn my sandals to the park all day - I always wear my New balance runners with socks but they are hot. Are you guys able to wear your sandals all day? :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I highly recommend Nike sandals. I've had an old pair of ACG sandals that are still in great shape and those are over 5 yrs old. They're as comfortable as any sneaker out there and I got a new pair of the Nike Straprunners for my trip to Disney. They run about $40 (American $) tops but you can find them on sale at a lot of the larger sports stores now for $30-$35. You can always order them online too... I got mine from Altrec. I highly suggest at least browsing that site's area of women's sports sandals to get an idea of what looks comfortable for you. Quickly checking the Santiam IIIs are on sale and the latest version, the Santiam IV's are available for $40 (and appear to be a female version of the Straprunners).

I love sport sandals, and have tried most of the popular brands. My current favorite is the Merrell Outback. As with many of the Merrell sandals, the inside of the Outback's straps are covered with neoprene/Spandex, so that they don't rub against your feet.

BitsnBearsMom --

My DH and I were in North by Northwest at Stone Road last night and they seemed to have a HUGE selection of all different types of sandals. And, I noticed that there seemed to be quite a few kinds with a bright orange sale sticker on them.

You might try there??

Mrs. E - thanks - I had been there but that was a few weeks ago and nothing was on sale then.

I'll have to go check it out.

My SAS sandals (expensive, but worth it) are now 10 years old and still going strong. I bought a pair of Rockports when the elastic band on the buckle wore out and I deteste them. So we (that is DH) replaced the elastic band and I'm wearing the SAS's again.

I just bought myself a pair of Columbia Altamont sandals for our WDW trip and they are very comfortable. No need to even break them in :thumbsup2
