Iam quite worried now with all the visa talk. :confused3 .
We leave on Aug 21st and my dh passport is now 9 yrs old...it expires sometime next yr. Is this a problem??

Ds and dd and I all re newed our passports 2 yr ago and we have the digital type. the only difference betwwen mine and dhs is that my signiture is imposed onto the passport and dhs isn't.
Whats all this machine readable buisness???
Has any one entered the Us with a passport 8 or 9 yrs old??

Urban myth.

For entry to the US, a UK passport is not required to have any validity beyond date of departure from US.

However, some carriers do reuire additional validity as part of their terms and conditions of carriage. Virgin do not.

Perhaps someone should tell them that then, since both they and Virgin Holidays have told me, on different occasions, that it was required.

VA should know the answer as it is clearly on their website (http://www.timaticweb.com/cgi-bin/tim_client.cgi?ExpertMode=TIDFT/US/PA/VA&user=VSB2C&subuser=VSB2C).
