Parade and Soarin rumor

The new rumor is that there is a new parade at MK starting august 1st---saw it on screamscape.They are also reporting that there will not be a new soarin theater ,but a new movie "Soarin Over America" by 2008.

I think the parade is just a re-hab of the current one, at least that is what is being reported elsewhere. As for Soarin, the theater was never to change, it's brand new, but there have been rumors for quite some time that the movie will change. That's why it's called Soarin and not Soarin over California as the original is?

I think the change to Soarin' would be an improvement, if they were actually to do it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Personally I do not like the Soarin Over America Idea... It should be Soarin over the world and use clips from the countries in the world showcase

That would be cool and it would go better with the theme of Epcot!

I think it should be Soarin' over the World and they should have different movies. They could do them by continents so 1 ride might be over North America and then the next time would be over Asia or Europe etc... They should all end at EPCOT's World Showcase though.

Asia- Disneyland Hong kong, Tokyo
North America - Disneyland or Walt Disney World



South America- Maybe an Aztec Pyramid

We think that's a GREAT idea. We really enjoy the current one over CA, but we're hoping that at some point they put in a new one soaring over the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, & other very familiar beautiful places throughout the U.S. (including CA). Also, we wish that this would be an additional theater, not replace the current one, but you can't have it all. :rolleyes:

According to a report on Miceage about the walt disney studios in paris, their version of "soarin over the world" is aldeady in the can, and is just waiting to get approvial to be built, which would make the rumor that EPCOT is to recieve probably the same film more credable.

I was told that the movie would change sometime in the future. They just used Soarin' over California movie for the Happiest Celebration theme. I am excited for a SOA. I just wish it would be sooner than 2008. My next trip will be in 2007.

I had deard from a CM who works in the land that the movie changing out after this year was a real possibility and almost thought from the way he spoke as though they were already working on the movie. I would love a Soarin over America or a Soarin over the World.

If Disney was to put another film into Soarin' in 2008, I think it would be too soon after the attraction opened. How long have people been waiting for a new film in "Star Tours"? I guess I would go with the "if it isn't broke, why fix it" theory. The arguement that the "Soarin' Over California" movie was intended to be there only for the 50th anniversary celebration is a reasonable one, but they wanted to put Soarin' in at WDW after they saw how successful it was at DCA anyway.

As for alternating two different films, that won't happen. It's impractical to believe that the theaters could be reprogrammed for alternating presentations. Only replacing the film altogether would do. This isn't circlevision, the technology is completely different.

I'd give the current movie at least 5 years at Epcot before it is changed out.

And Really, Soarin Over California is a good movie to work with the land's theme.

I don't like the duplication, but the film does fit the theme. In fact, of the recent ride clones, this is one of the best.


The reason being that California has such a varied topography and agriculture, that it manages to cover much of the Livin with the land theme.

Magic Kingdom is getting a new parade. The globes will be removed from the floats and the old princess float from Remember the Magic will return. I will let you know more as the details develop.
