I apologize I know this has been discussed before, but apparently I'm just not with it. How do you order bottled water from Staples and have it shipped to your resort with no shipping charge? I suppose you have to type in "water" under search or is there someplace else to click? I see that you get free shipping with a $50.00 purchase so how are people getting it shipped for free? I think it's a wonderful idea since we need 2 cases (for 7 people). That's room in our car for more junk!

Oh, does the hotel mind having stuff shipped (we are staying at the All Stars Sports)? I was planning on sending some snacks before hand as well.

Only 34 more days before my 8 1/2 year old triplets meet Mickey for the first time. My 14 & 13 year old have been 3 times before but not since 1996! I'm excited!

To get free shipping, sign up for the Staples' Rewards Program (https://www.staplesrewardscenter.com/SORC/UserManagement/Login/Login.aspx). The program is free and you get free shipping on all phone and online orders.

Then you can either order online or by phone and have the water shipped to you at the resort. Many people have packages delivered to themselves at the resorts. Disposable diapers, wipes, formula and any special needs items are often shipped rather than carried in luggage. It's not out of the ordinary.

To order water, do a search for "bottled water" on the Staples website. The type of water available varies by location but you should be able to find at least one national brand. The website can even give you an idea of how long it will take for your order to arrive at its destination.

Lisa, Thank You So Much for the info. So all I have to do to get free shipping is sign up for the rewards program. I can do that.

Thanks,

I've read of people calling the hotel to make sure it's okay and to see if they have any special directions...is this necessary??? Also should you have it shipped so it gets there the day before you get there, will the hotel (CSR) hold it for you for a day?

Have you considered filtering as you go? A bottle cap to filter what ever water is available?

Thanks richard_andmel. I think it had something to do with my saved data (location). Maybe I can't have water delivered to where I live. I had to go to another computer that didn't have my info stored and then your link worked perfectly!! Now I have water on the way!! :cool1:

I was getting no water found too. Office Depot will ship it too. I think it's 7.00 for the case of water, 7.99 for the shipping. It comes out to .65 cents per bottle, still cheaper than in the parks!!

I ordered 2 cases in June, one to the Sheraton Vistana & one to BWV...

the thread I read advised to order at least a week ahead of time. Of course, I ordered them 9 days early. I received confirmation that both cases were delivered within a business day.:teeth:

Surprised that both were waiting for me when we arrived.

Can you use the Brita bottle filters in these bottles? My friend ordered 2 Brita bottles from ebay, but we still need two more bottles for our trip. These bottles seem to be more readily available than the Brita ones. Thanks for your help.

I do have one question... Are people having water shipped because they don't have a rental car? I was just planning on stopping at a Publix and running in and getting a couple of cases on the way to the AKL, then letting the bellman bring it up with our luggage. Is Staples cheaper? Or am I missing something else?

Thanks

Thank you all for the information.

I think I will order a case from Staples about a week before I arrive. If the water is delivered to Pop Century before I get there, is it no problem for Pop to store it for me until my arrival? Will luggage services deliver it to my room with my luggage from Magical Express?

Thank you! It would save a lot of money to have our own case of water instead of paying for individual bottles in the parks.

We won't have a rental car and getting a case of water delivered is cheaper than buying water in the parks. If you have a rental car and are able to stop at Publix, then you'll be able to get a good price on water and other groceries.

I just like the idea of getting a water filter bottle and filling it wherever you go. Having a case of bottled water is not handy because you have to store it, carry it, pack it, move it.

Generally we all have plenty of sunscreen, diapers, snacks, MM ears to have to carry around without having to carry around heavy water.

Well in my case we're taking the Magical Express so we won't have a rental car. Last year we did WeGoShop, but we also ordered some snacks, etc. so it made the cost they charged more reasonable. Since we just want water delivered I'm thinking of trying Staples.

Perhaps we're lazy but, really just don't want to stop @ grocery store to buy bottled water. We did stop @ publix last trip to buy milk, soda etc. & found that their prices for bottled water were in the same ball park as Staples. Since I pack coffee, kook aid, etc.; I honestly, don't think we'll stop again to grocery shop when on the DP especially, always stuffed.

Additionally, you get a coupon for signing up for rewards program $5, that brought the 1st case of water to around $2, factoring in the free shipping.

As I stated earlier, the BW held my water for over 10 days, it was waiting in our villa upon arrival.

Maybe I am insane but does anyone else do this. I pack a case of water in an extra suitcase. That way the suitcase will be empty by the end of the week for all the stuff we buy in the parks and we dont have to pay for water. I have done this our last two trips with no problems.

We stayed at Pop a month ago, and I did the Staples water thing.... worked out great. I ordered on the Wednesday before the Monday we arrived. When I checked in, I just told the CM that I should have an order from Staples-- she checked the computer, and said, yes, it's here.

She asked if I would like it delivered to the room. If I remember right, it was delivered an hour, or so, later-- but NOT by Magical Express... I think they delivered luggage a bit later, but I know it was a separate delivery.

I put my resort reservation number on the order form (online.) I think I just typed it in after my last name on the same blank-- there was no separate blank to type the res. number, but it came out fine.... on the printed invoice on the outside of the cases of water it just looked like: "Firstname Lastname Res. # XXXXXXXXX."

I did not call ahead to check anything with Pop. Just took my chances!!!

I did use the $5 coupon code that was sent to me when I signed up for Staples Rewards. It expired fairly quickly (at the end of June-- I signed up in June) so, assuming this is something Staples always does, I wouldn't sign up until closer to my trip, if I were you.

My total for 2 cases of Nestle water (48 bottles) was $14.xx. I've read that you can call Staples, and have them take off the shipping charges, but I never did. I was pretty thrilled at the price of less than 30 cents/ bottle, and was overwhelmed by everything else I had going on at that time, so I never even thought about it.

FYI, if you want your Staples reward account "linked" to online ordering, I was told you have to call customer service after the 1st time you place an on-line order.

All future orders will have $0 shipping charges, w/o a minimum purchase. I'm finding it handy for ink, paper, etc. - beats running out to the store when I'm running low.

I wanted to share what I ended up having to do in case anyone else has the same problem. Apparently, there is no water available where I live and I since I am a regular customer of Staples.com, they know where I live. :guilty:

In order to get this. I had to delete all history, cookies, etc. Close Internet Explorer. (I even restarted the computer to be sure.) Then I went back in like a new customer. I even created a new account at order time (but used my same old rewards number when creating it). I did not put in my real address until after the shipping address was in for Orlando and it asked for the billing address. Everything worked after that.

Hope this helps if anyone else has this problem so that you don't have to go somewhere else and pay shipping.

Pretty much the same experience for us. I ordered mine the same way (but did end up calling to get the shipping charge taken off...no problems! We also ordered 2 cases, one for us, and one for a family we were travelling with.) When we checked in, the water was waiting for us...not sure why...but we had to take it to our room (?? Not sure why they wouldn't deliver it...but it wasn't a huge deal to us.) Water is almost $3.00/bottle in the parks...we saved BIG time!!

I'm surprised that luggage services could not deliver the water for you. If my room is far from Classic Hall, I know I'd have a very hard time carrying a full case of water to our room--it's heavy! I'd gladly tip luggage services to bring it to my room.

Thank you for the information.

I tried this last year after my case of bottled water ran out but even with the filtered bottles It still tasted musty. I am from the inland North West were the tap water tastes as good as bottled. I guess I am just spoiled. I am using magical express so once I get my case of water in the suitcase to the airport I dont have to handle it again. Plus we use the extra suitcase to pack home all the goodies we buy.

yes, i guess you just have good water there. most of the water is bad all over the south, so we are used to having to get filters.

I havent tried this, but I heard that it does work, and you get the flavor through the filter. However, they said that the flavor never goes away. So if you put cherry in, you are stuck with cherry forever.

You can prolly get some extra filters and change the filters out, i bet that works.

yes, I agree, if you are rich and dont care about the environment, then bottled water is the way to go. However, my family is on a budget and cant buy bottled water all the time. And I dont like the warnings the goverment is giving about plastic bottles taking over landfills.

Just look at the following picture!! it says it all

By chance...do you work or sell for ******* or do you just get a cut of the profits for pushing it?

Sorry but slamming people for buying bottled water is just a little rude. I fully admit that I buy bottled water. I'm buying it from Staples to my WDW trip.
BUT... I also recycle my bottles. Does that get me brownie points with you?
All I'm saying is you have your way of drinking water and other people have theirs and you don't need to be rude to them about it.

Nope, but I wish. If it was possible to get a cut of the profits, that would be nice. You can work that out for me since you offered.

I dont slam people for buying bottled water any more than I slam people for littering. It's all about becoming part of the solution instead of the problem. I would like something to be left for my kids and their kids.

Yes, recycling is good I guess. Except since I happen to voluteer at a recyling organization, I happen to know that it actually takes more money and more energy to recyle a bottle than it does to make a new one. So recyling is not going to help because companies are not going to look to it as a solution. The only solution I see is to not produce as many. Did you actually read the articles?

Will you be carrying your bottles back from the WDW trip to recycle them? I thought not........

To put it in your words: All I'm saying is I have my way of helping children and the environment, and you have your way to destroy it. You don't have to be rude about it.

More than anything, I would love to have something left for your georgeous "little miracle princess" when she grows up other than a sea of bottles.

Bev

ps, do you work for Staples or do you get a cut of the profits? Does it make any more sense when you are on that side of the coin? Why blast me for touting one company as you tout another? Seriously, let's put together sentences that have some meaning.

not crazy at all. we ordered bottled water with our other groceries from wegoshop. what saved us extra money was we froze our bottles before leaving the parks and when we had finished the first one we refilled the bottle with wdw water while there was still some ice chunks in it and just added the drink mix to it. it did cover up the taste of the water pretty well. one problem though. most of the water from the fountains really arent that cold. so leave some ice in the bottle. still when you have 4 thirsty people and water costing what it is this saved us quite a bit of cash over 10 days

one tip though. if you choose to do this wrap your bottle in a paper towel and secure it with rubber bands. that water will defrost quickly and will drip all over the place.
