Questions on reserving Thanksgiving Week

Hi everyone,

We got back from our visit DVC stay 10/20 and we are know thinking about when to go again! In MD for the last few years, our kids have off Wed - Friday of Thanksgiving and they get out 3 hours early on Monday & Tues. This would be a great week to go. My questions are:

1) How difficult is it to book this week? Our home resort is BW. Would this be our only option because of the 11 month window?

2) Has anyone used DVC points for the Sat - Friday and then payed cash at a hotel for the Friday night and possibly Sat. night? The points are just so high for these two nights but the hotel rates are probably high also.

I booked this year 11/21-12/02, day by day. Didn't want to take the chance. Referecne your home resort, I would venture to guess it would be your best shot. But, you never know, coming in earlier might not be a problem elsewhere. As for paying cash, never done that, that's why I bought into it. Yes holidays and weekends ar emore points, but it all works out in my eyes...
