Thank you Epcot_VA for the info and advice. We did purchase a package policy for our B2Bs in August. Question though: I thought travel insurance had to be purchased before final payment? Have I been wrong all along in thinking this? Anyone know for sure? :confused3

Nope I purchased insurance up to a few days before travel.

Many policies do have a pre-existing condition policy where you may have to purchase so many days within the 1st payment of the cruise. So if you purchased the policy after the 1st payment day limit then, all pre-existing conditions would not be covered.

Good Luck..

Check with the policy .. I purchased private insurance a few days before final payment. DCL and CAA would not let me buy insurance, so I went to private. When I purchased it I asked them about pre-existing condition and they said that they will cover them, as long as there hasn't been an occurrence within so many months of purchasing insurance (can't remember exact number). For example, I had a blood clot and phlebitis over 5 years ago, so I will be covered if I get another blood clot, as the occurrence could not have been predicted. I made sure to spell this one out to the agent to make sure I was covered. Hope this helps.

If the hotel has a safe, I don't understand the need for even a hotel to hold anyone's passport. I haven't traveled overseas in years but I've never given it up in the past.

Marie

I just got back from Rome a week ago and that hotel reviewed my passport but did not hold it. In some countries however, the passport has been held for the duration of the stay. These tended to be eastern European countries.

Hey Guys

I am posting this if anyone is interested in a private tour of the Amalfi Coast.

I have worked with this company to provide a custom tour to my specifications!

I just received an E-mail to confirm for June 30th and he still has guides & vehicles available.

My tour is not scheduled untill June 30th so I cannot speak from experience however I am looking forward to it.

I was enjoying the live trip reports from the repo and the first Med cruise. Has anyone found any live trip reports from the 2nd Med cruise (June 6 or so?)

Hello Janet,
Welcome aboard! It takes a little time learning the ins and outs of this. A thread is a related group of conversations focusing on a theme or subject. This is my definition.

Be patient, it takes time!

Sandy,
I have completely finished unpacking and I can't find the vanilla martini recipe anywhere. Christina wrote it on a scrap of paper so I'm afraid i must have tossed it out by mistake. I do remember that it was equal parts 5 different ingredients:
Vanilla Absolute
White Godiva
Amaretto
Vanilla ice cream mix (it came in a container like a milk carton)
?? Galiano ??

Not sure about the 5th ingredient......maybe Tarcy can comment.

Jeanne -

Thanks for looking - I completely understand about a missing peice of paper. If Tracy/Jenn doesn't come up with it I can always email DCL, they have helped me out before.

Yes great indeed. I'm going to copy this thread's link over to our Mediterranean Cruise Aug 20th 2011 so others can continue to benefit from it.
