I will be gutted if the Baboons get Toto :guilty: He is the cutest thing I have ever seen :goodvibes
I have ton's of respect that the fella following can do the 'right' thing and not interfere with nature even though he is obviously desperate to stop Toto getting caught

I left the room when the baboons were after the baby cheetah cub last night! DBF was laughing at me and saying 'it's what happens in nature' :guilty:

I have now "grown up" enought that I can watch it but it's taken me a long time!!
I agree though it must be soooo difficult to have to stand and watch and not do anything.

I adore this prog, Governers camp where the Big Cat team stay is amazing - if you ever safari in the Mara you should try and stay there its the best. I want Toto - he's so cute. My cat was worried when he started chirruping for his mum and went and sat next to the tv to try and find him :rotfl2: .

Thanks Carol

I'm sure if you love Disney then Safari would be fantastic for you but bear in mind theres an awful lot of just sitting quietly staring at a hedge! why not try a short, say, 5 day one to see if you like it? Wildlife worldwide are the absolute experts and you can get a short trip to a lovely camp like governors without having to do the beaches. Nairobi and Mombassa are both pretty ugly, dirty towns and although the beaches are lovely its a long way to go to just sit on a beach! Never underestimate how cold it gets too as you are usually out in the bush really early inthe morning or late at night but theres no better thing than all the camp sitting round an open fire in the evening listening to the leopard bark and elephants snuffle!

probably a good move, what with extreme heat during the day, very cold mornings and evenings, an awful lot of bumpy travel and a lot of waiting around its probably wise :goodvibes

you're very welcome -WW are brilliant, they're a bit more expensive than your average but they use top naturalists and guides, they are also very involved with the people at Big Cat Diary. Their MD Chris Breen is a lovely guy and they are very helpful.

And he survived the lion as well. Really had to laugh at the lion that went into the pond :)
We were in the Masai Mara in December, not the same place but it's still very recognizable. We want to go back some time, so Carol we'll keep your tip in mind.

I was shivering along with him... poor bedraggled thing
Afterwards we watched the Uncut version on BBC3, they had a really great bit on Hyenas vs. Lions.

oooooh i saw that, i never realised hyeanas were THAT dangerous....i knew they were stong but not to that extent!
Poor Bella, she must be getting hungry!

I detest hyenas - they are the lowest of the low - I'd sooner spend a night in a tent with spiders, rats and snakes than a hyena - and they're HUGE I mean, I thought they were little dog sized things but they're massive, The Lion King film portrays them perfectly - those guys really did do excellent research

no hyeanas arent the cutest of creatures, i was lucky enough to see some in Uganda....pesky things they are...the only bit Disney got wrong was the friendship between scar and the lions but they did eventually turn on scar in the end...
