Scanning and coloring

Anyone ever scan Disney coloring book pages and manage to color them on the computer so they look nearly as good as paper piecing?

I'm thinking you could do this and then print it on white cardstock and then cut it up and piece it back together. I may try it.

I haven't tried that though I have found paper piecings I like on Ebay, right click to print them on my kodak printer, and cut them out to use in my scrapbook.

I've tried scanning the coloring book pages, but can't seem to color them on the computer. What software would I need to use? :confused3

I'd use PhotoShop, but that's not in most people's software arsenal. Paint would probably work. Paint Shop Pro certainly would work. PhotoShop elements might work, I've never used it so I'm not sure what tools it has.

This isn't paper piecing... its actually a piece from stationary I created... but its kinda the same idea I used Cinderella coloring book pictures. I used Photoshop and it was a pretty simple process. I didn't want the coloring book lines to show so I created a second layer above it. I did all my selection inside the lines with the magic wand tool on the coloring book layer. Then selected the second layer to fill in the color or picture. For the pumpkin I placed a picutre of a real one inside the lines with Paste Into to create the pattern. For the ivy etc. I just filled in between the lines with the color I wanted. Then when I was done I made the first layer invisible.
