I am so excited. :cheer2: I just got email from Ritz Camera that they are shipping the 18-200mm VR lens that I ordered several months ago. I can't wait to get it. We are having a family reunion in 2 weeks. One of my brothers is career Army and he is taking leave to bring his family. Funny thing is how I had long talk with DH this past weekend about saving money and no big expenses. I guess I will definitely be eating my words. Just had to share the excitement. :)

Congrats!
I just received my new 28-135 Canon IS... and it's such fun! I had been following the tracking reports from Canada with anticipation. I'm happy to report my new lens is flawless! As yours' is nearly certain to be as well!

But as luck would have it I had just a little time last nite and my battery died after 2-3 shots! I had just shot several 100 shots over the weekend (my daughters 1st swim meet, Anime / Cosplay Expo / fireworks) and had neglected to refresh the DSLR batteries - and there were no spares in the camera bag when I was 1st testing the new lens.
So perhaps later today I'll post some shots! When yours' arrives please post some images!
Cheers! :thumbsup2

SWEET!!
Congrats to both of you on the new lenses. I'm currently holding out for Nikon to come out with the 70-300mm VR lens sometime this fall. Otherwise I will have to hold out longer for the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR Nikkor. Need lots of time to save for that one.
As always,,,,,,,,,,,, Post pictures.

I haven't heard that Nikon was coming out with a 70-300mm VR lens. I know they have a 80-400 f/4.5-5.6 VR and it is available now. In fact they even offering a $150 rebate on the lens. What kind of specs will the 70-300mm have?
I definitely want to see some shots from the new lenses that captaincrash and Shanan have.

I don't know any of the spec's. I got the info from Kelly on this board. She got the info from her friends camera shop. Canon is on their (I believe) 3rd generation 70-300mm IS lens. One of them is fairly affordable at about $700 or so.
I've tried out the 80-400mm VR and it is a BEAST of a lens. Not quite as long as the 70-200VR (6 1/2 inches vs 8 inches), but weighs about the same (48 or so ounces). And it does cost about $1400.
I'm hoping that the 70-300VR is more on the affordable side. Even it is an f/4-5.6 I'd still probably take one if it comes in around $800. I"ll keep my fingers crossed.

Cashcow, I really hate to break it to you but I had mine ordered since April 2. I was hoping to have it in and used to it prior to our WDW trip. Trip was June 9-17. Don't think I had it for trip. Maybe another excuse to go to WDW. :rotfl2: I can't wait to try it out. Will post some pictures with it later. I see what others post & I am in totally awe and hope to be half as good as other posters.
