OK, I'm very new to the digital picture thing. I can take pictures and print them out...that's about it. But I would love to make a slideshow with the pictures from our January trip. What kind of software do I need to fade the pictures in and out and add music? :confused3

I don't think you can use music with this program, but it does a decent job with slide shows. It's called Picasa, and it's free! I can't post a link yet so type picasa into google and it should be the first link. It's made by google.

I second the recommendation for Picasa!

If you have Windows XP you can download Photostory 3 for free from Microsoft's website. For a free program it works quite well.

Here is a simple slideshow I produced in about 10 minutes with this program:

Thanks, I'll check both of these out!! MOmousefan, I loved your slide show...that is exactly what I want to do with our recent pictures.

Just use windows movie maker. Its easy, tons of really easy cool features to use. You can even add titles and credits along with music and mpg movies to your slide show. Im pretty computer stupid and I was able to figure that program out no problem.

Besides Windows Movie maker usually comes with any computer. If not just download it from download.com

Its free!

These were made with ProShow. It's not free but is probably the best in the "under $100" bracket. Beyond that you can get into Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas, for a lot more $$$.
