Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I read today that Pirates #2, due out this week, and the next one, due out in 2007, were filmed at the same time. I guess like they did with the Lord of the Rings movies. I suppose they figured on using the actors before they get busy with other projects.

The Boston Herald said shooting starts today in cali. ---they had a quick write up on the movie and were talking to Depp and Bloom about starting work with Kieth Richards

They said it was just cheaper already having cast and crew already there. Plus actors salaries continue to increase after each smash hit.It was strictly financial and some was commits as stated earlier.

This has become a more popular way of doing things. Back to the Future 2 and 3 were the first I think. But it has become popular since the Lord of the Rings were all shot at once.

Si. The two sequels were partially filmed at the same time. They finished the second and moved right into the third, which is now on hiatus for promotion of "Dead Man's Chest". It will resume production late fall, looking for another summer release in 2007.

I think with the Lord of the Rings they wanted to get fimed together because of the age of some of the actors. Christoper Lee is now 84 and Ian Holm is 75 (btw did you know Ian Holm played Frodo Baggins in the radio 4 dramatisation of Lord of the Rings?)

Does anyone know the location and schedule of the fall shooting of POC3.?

I remember reading a report of a gal who up and decided to be an extra on POC1. I think the location was outside LA. It sounded like a fun thing to do if you had the time/didn't need the money etc.

And I thought: gee this would be a once in a lifetime fun thing for me!!!!
But I didn't spend the energy trying to track down locations etc for POC2&3. I guess fall is my last chance! (and with two trips booked to WDW in fall, I may have spoiled my chances.)
