7 months out booking question

Couldn't search the forum, so I figured I'd post my question.

Our home resort is SSR. We'd like to book a 2-bedroom at OKW for June 3-12, 2007. Can we book seven months out from June 12 (meaning Nov 12), or is it literally seven months, so we'd need to count out enough days to fill seven months?

If you plan on checking out on June 12, call on Nov 12 or day by day if you are worried it might get sold out.

Actually, Nov 13th since the 12th is a Sunday.

So how would this work? If I called day-by-day, would I on the first call say I was departing on June 4 (calling Nov 4), and then on Nov 5 call back and say I'm extending my stay? I'm sure MS has people do this often, but I'm not sure how I would phrase my subsequent calls.

Thanks for the info - hope you're healing well. My mom fell and broke both of her shoulders on June 24, so I see firsthand how disabling it is to have an arm out of commission.

I would call on November 6 (Nov 4 is a Saturday) and ask what availability looks like for the time you want. That should give you some guidance on if you need to do day by day. You don't want to start day by day when there are dates in the middle of your trip that are already full. I would make a reservation at SSR for your dates at 11 months so you have it as a backup.

If we did reserve at SSR 11 months out and wanted to check at 7 months for OKW, wouldn't cancelling at SSR move our points to reservation-only points and thus stop us from getting to book at any of the DVC resorts? This will be our first trip home, so we aren't always sure we have the rules nailed down yet.

Reservation points happen when you book at a NON-DVC resort. You can switch around the DVC resorts with no problem.
