View Full Version : January 28, 2007, 4 nights on the WONDER
woo hoo, 6 days until the cruise:thumbsup2
I personally hate flying :scared1: but i do it to get to where i want to go, if i did not fly, i would never get anywhere :goodvibes
as for sleeping on a plane, i never have any luck, although, if you drink alcohol, a drink or two may make you sleepy (er) than you already are, and may help. make sure you take something to rest your head on - a blanket, cozy jacket or whatever. I am not sure if the airlines still provide pillows/blankets for domestic flights, and even if they do, with all the cutbacks, i doubt they wash them between flights:confused3 those night maks things would probably help you too.
time to begin packing, busy week ahead, and i like to get things done early  so we shall see. cant wait to meet ya all

Hope everyone has a safe trip to Florida! Looks like highs will be in the 60s and 70s while there -- a nice change for those of us in the grips of winter!

Hey all! We leave in two more days!!! We head out of Baltimore at 7am on Thursday morning! Cant wait! Although DS caught stomach flu Friday and has passed it to both DD and DH last night. I've prayed hard that I don't get it also...don't want to get sick on the plane. I'm downing my Airborne, eating lots of grapefruit, and drinking a ton of water. I'm hoping I"m immune since I was so close to DS when he originally caught it.
Can't wait for warm weather...love to hear that the forcast is warm.
See you all soon!

omg, I hope everyone is feeling better SOON. i hope no one here gets sick, but it is going around the schools.:scared1:

Shauna,
Received the wristbands in the mail today. My girls are really going to like them (especially the youngest- who has a green obsession!). Thank you so much for doing that. We will be watching for everyone who is wearing them!

Glad the wristbands made it in time. I hope the two others of you who I mailed them to get them soon.
Everyone else--you can look forward to getting them in just 4 days!!! I like the sound of that--4 days.

We got ours too! Thank you! See you all soon.
We are having a cold front right now, the temperature suddenly dropped from 70 to the low 60's. Tonight it's probably in the 40's. But do not fear, I'm sure it is short term!

It sure is chilly around here tonight...but it WILL warm up. :yay:
I'm a brand new DIS-er but I've been lurking around the WDW boards for awhile. Couldn't help but join when I saw this thread just this past weekend!
My DBF and I are going on our FIRST cruise together. He's been on bunches before with friends and me with my ex-BF so we know what to expect in terms of the cruise...just not what to expect of each other for an extended period of time! :scared1:
I'll be on the lookout for the DIS wristbands so don't give me a weird look if I say hi randomly! I'm so excited to get away for awhile! I mean, I know that I'm lucky to already live in Orlando- but us Disney-folk need a vacation too! :goodvibes
THREE DAYS AND A WAKE-UP!

Low 60s still sounds wonderful to me. Weather is all relative you know.
According to the Weather Channel, Nassau's forecast for Monday is high of 75, low of 64, with a 40% chance of showers.
Orlando's Forecast:
Saturday 72, 60, few showers
Sunday 62, 45, scattered showers
Thursday 74, 58, scattered showers
Hopefully the rain doesn't spoil anyone's activities. We'll still have a WONDERful cruise despite the weather.
Hey Shauna and all -
good news is i checked cape canaveral forecast for sunday - showing morning showers and cloudy - high 72:banana:
if its 72 i will be in the pool with the kids - if it is 62 I guess its the hottub. either way, we will have a blast. :cool1: see you at pinnochios at 3:00 :woohoo: In Pa, it is cooold. about 12 degrees forcasted for tonight, highs in the 20s all week/end.

Kty, We had rain showers the morning of our cruise, but by the time we boarded the sun was shining and we even set sail under a beautiful rainbow. Luckily, Fla. rain showers usually don't last long, especially this time of year.

Hope everyone had a great time on the cruise. We returned Thursday night to Denver, greeted by below zero wind chill and 3 inches of new snow on top of what was there when we left for our cruise. Boy, was I ever wishing for a magic door that would take us back to Castaway Cay!
It was our first cruise and we absolutely loved it. Is anyone else planning on another cruise in the near future? We booked our second cruise while onboard -- just have to wait for Oct. 2008 to get here!
It was great to meet everyone and I hope we can stay in touch!

:sad1: Yes, we returned to Baltimore to freezing weather too. So sad that no one greets you with a smile anymore. :sad1:
DS (4) cried when we got to our van in Baltimore. He just assumed all planes bring you eventually to a boat. With his little lip quivering, he said ' I just wanted to get back on the boat'. Me too, honey, me too.:sad1:
Unless I was just late, I didn't get to meet a lot of you guys. Hope you all had a great time like we did. I started a thread on the Cruise reports page.

We returned to cold too! Hope everyone had a safe trip home. We also loved our cruise. We didn't rebook, but I have a feeling that we will be back someday. My girls plotted all the way home on how they could live on Castaway Cay. Pretty amusing! In the end, two decided they'd have to work for Disney Cruise Line. The other one decided she will just visit, because she prefers Kansas!

It was so fun meeting everyone. We just got back last night and it was around 35 degrees at 8pm. This was actually warm compared to the 10s-20s from before the trip. We lucked out with wonderful weather on the cruise. The few days that we spent in FL after we had rain off and on, but it was still nice (even though it was just in the 50s on Sat & Sun.
We did rebook onboard for Nov 1, 2008 which is a long way away, but we'll see what happens between now and then and we can always bump it up or push it back.
Gortman65--congrats on winning the credit at the DVC presentation, was your wife excited?
I found an extra wristband in my suitcase, meaning that I have one that fell out of one of the envelopes that I passed out. If anyone is missing one, let me know and I can send it so you can have it for a souvineer.
I miss seeing you all. Now we're back to reality--work, laundry, cooking, etc.

Shauna,
Yes, my wife was excited about winning the shipboard credit. I've never won anything like that before, so I was pretty excited too. We ended up meeting with Anne about DVC and decided to become members! Talking to you and Kevin beforehand really helped me see that it was a good thing for our family, so thanks for that!

We, too, had a wonderful time on our first cruise. We are heading back for a 7 night on 1/26/08. Now that our temps are 0 degrees, I really miss the boat!

We too were first timers and had a practically perfect cruise. I just finished my trip report on the TR board. I also just made a deposit for the 7 day Eastern sailing Dec. 8th.

We had a great time too, and it was so nice to enjoy all that food and great service. I wish the weather had been a little warmer, but hey, it was still better than snow for a lot of you I guess!
We did not rebook but know that we will be coming back as a family sometime.
Also, our dining tablemates were a really nice retired couple and they have a townhome that is five minutes from Disney World that they rent out! Their rates seem really reasonable if anyone is interested. Their site is www.disneyvisittownhome.com. I just thought I'd share the resource.
We could not believe the amount of energy the entertainment team had, singing, dancing in musicals and then being at the top of their game performing at parties every night. I could not do that! I hope they're paid very well.
Now, yes, back to laundry.........
we had a blast!!! met lots of great disers, and other wonderful people. we did not rebook (yet). heading to wdw in october for 9 nights. ( that darn 5 day educational trip thing in pa gets us all the time :confused3 ). thanks shauna for coordinating the bracelets :thumbsup2. hope to see you all again on another cruise sometime - got my eye on the western for the next one
