My mom and I are driving down from IL next July and are sure we want to join AAA just to have that security when driving alone. What I am wondering is once we're members, can we get discounts at the Disney Resorts? If so, do you have to book through Disney or AAA to get those discounts? We are planning on the AKL, so I'm not sure how much we'll save if any...in short...help me understand this!!! :confused3

Discounts through AAA are 15% off for Value resorts and Moderate resorts. The discounts for Deluxe and DVC accomodations is 10%. These discounts are in regular season. I'm not sure about peak or value season.
Good luck with your decision.

During Value Season, you receive 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Regular Season, you receive 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Peak Season, you receive 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.
The only time AAA discounts don't apply is Holiday Season.
You can book your AAA discount ressie directly with Disney CRO. I don't think the AAA rates for 2007 have been released. They usually are available for booking in the late summer/early fall.
Hope this helps! :wave2:

About AAA Discounts....If you are booking just the room with out other addons such as tickets/dining so forth. You can book straight through Disney CRO. If you want to do a package such as room & tickets or dining, then you have to go through the AAA travel agent.

How are the discounts for packages through the AAA agent. We are looking at doing the dining package this year so we are looking into rejoining AAA. In the past we had an AP discount but this year it was never available for the Yacht/Beach club in May.
Thanks

I will now only book with AAA, during our stay I had a horrible incident happen at Typohoon Lagoon and Disney was very ineffective to my dismay! I did however out of frustration and hoping for some direction contacted my AAA agent. WOW all I can say is what results began to unfold. Thank God I had someone to help get things moving and happening.
They have won my business forever!
