Day 6 May 15th AK

Today was “down” as another free day so we asked Lucy what she wanted to do. EE again was the resounding answer! So, as it was an EMH at AK, it was an early alarm call from Mickey and Stitch – 6.30am!!

Very busy at AK this morning with everyone wanting to do exactly the same ride – we had discussed on the bus that we wanted to just ride EE as many times as we could and then Kara suggested that we try and get the funniest photo’s. :rotfl:

I can’t remember in quite what order we did the ride mixed with FP and queuing but I seriously think we hold the record for the most amount of times………….8 in one morning!!! Thanks to a wonderful CM (Carlos) who was working at the front of the train who gave us 2 lots of FP (I could have kissed him!!). Every time we got to the front of the queue and we asked for the front of the train and he would shout “Here’s the English Princesses again” princess: princess: princess: Another celebrity moment!?! We eventually rode it 6 times at the front, once in the middle and once at the back. Front is definitely better – just for the view – back seems faster!

We gathered all the photo numbers and chose the two that we wanted and the lovely CM at the photo counter said that she could put them side-by-side. After a small conversation with her it turned out that 40 years ago she lived about 3 miles away from our house!! It is a small world (altogether now - hum the tune!!!)

We are very proud of this photo, and thanks to the IT Department at work, I am able to show it to you……………………………………………..

After overdosing on EE we went to the Maharajah Jungle Trek. The bats were huge but thankfully not flying round!

Kara asked “why this deer didn’t have antenna?” “Antenna” I said “don’t you mean antlers” (another blonde moment - we both had quite a few of them on this holiday!!)

We took this photo of the tiger because we thought he looked so peaceful and not much different from our dog when he’s asleep!

Headed off home at about 12.30. Three guesses where we went……….no you are all wrong!! We ended up at the quiet pool by Cabana 8b. The Dig-Site had been taken over by Love-Bugs and someone told us there were none by the quiet pools. So we grabbed some burgers and fries and headed off round the corner. They were right; there was not a single one! Neither was there any other people and we had the whole pool to ourselves all afternoon.

Get changed for our exciting night over at the PM (hey, we have really wild nights, don’t we?). Usual thing- chicken fajitas, chicken strips and soup. Wander round to the shop to buy some presents. Bought Andy a CSR polo shirt and a Mickey fountain pen. Lucy bought what seemed to be most of her class-mates presents- she is a very generous girl. And she used her own money!! She had been saving up her “wages” that Andy and I give her – she helps out at the local stables on a Sunday from 8am until 5pm and we give her £5!! She had saved £100-most of which she spent on other people.

Decided to walk the long way round to the room past the Casitas and Ranchos. It was a beautiful walk and I seriously wouldn’t mind staying in any of them, although the Casitas are probably more for the conventioneers because of the closeness to the PM and they are furthest away from the Dig-Site. CM stopped and gave Lucy a figurine of Mickey – yet another magical moment!

Bed at 10pm!

Another photo, of me this time, kindly taken by Lucy! :rotfl2:

Okay, I've read all of your six days, and I'm loving your report... but now I'm bamboozled!!

I assumed you had three daughters, because the girls in your signature photo look so young! But I'm slowly starting to realise I'm wrong. Are you one of the girls in the photo?! If so... wow! :cheer2:

Maybe I'm just having a blonde moment. Even though I'm actually a brunette.

And also, do you have to walk through the big bat enclosure on the Maharajah Jungle Trek? Or can you skip it? I was planning on doing the trek, but I'm petrified of anything with wings - moths, birds, bats, butterflies, anything! - and would freak out for the whole day if I had to go near those bats!

(And I mean, freak out. As in, hyperventilating, shaking, the whole deal. If one actually touched me, I'd probably pass out. So any info on that would be great!!)

Keep up the fun reports! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting.

Flattery will get you everywhere!!!! :rotfl: I'm the one on the left of the signature photo : you just can't see the wrinkles very well! :rotfl2: It's actually my 43rd birthday tomorrow - Happy Independence Day everyone in the USA :thumbsup2

You can skip the bat encounter if you wish but they are behind wooden fencing with large cut out windows and they really do have the cutest of faces - like little bears!
