OK, I am definitely pretty laid back about this trip.

As I have read through some of these posts, I have noticed that some people are packing already? How many of you have already started packing? If you haven't when do you start?

What are you packing?
What are you bringing for luggage?
Anyone bringing anything fancy?
Ok, so I am being nosey....lol

Help me pack...lol...I do not want to get down there, and either melt because I have winter clothes, or freeze because my clothes aren't warm enough...HELP!!

As soon as I get rid of my houseguests next week, I'm going to start pulling things out. I use the spare bedroom to lay out all the stuff I want to bring, or think I want to bring.

I'm bringing one suitcase and a carry-on.

I really don't have anything fancy to bring, except my new jeans if that counts! ;)

We'll have to pay close attention to the Orlando weather forecast before we leave. Hopefully it's accurate enough to help me decide whether or not to bring a bathing suit and more then one sweatshirt.

Guilty, as charged. I don't actually have a suitcase filled yet, but I have a pile of stuff I know I'm taking. I have my Disney sweatshirts, my DIS shirt, my Santa Mickey ears hat, my Minnie ears, my WDW hat, gloves and scarf I bought last year that have a great red and green Mickey on them, and things like that in this pile. I have a few things that go to WDW with me every time and they just stay in one of the smaller suitcases. It's things like my poncho, my backpack, a Disney fanny pack and green ribbon. I already threw a bathing suit, towel and cover up in the pile, too. (just in case it's really nice) I don't start the actual clothes thing until we get closer and I start to check the weather channel online. If I see it's going to be cold the whole time, I won't be bringing that many shorts, just jeans. The weather channel online gives you a 10 day forecast. It's a big help when packing for a trip.

Oh i have packed a 3 completes sets of clothes for each of us plus 2 pair long pants , 2 sweatshirts, extra plain white t-shirt and a few sets of extra undergarments..
also sandals, sunblock, lots and lots of disney dollars!!

I am also guilty as charged!!

I have one small suit case already packed with our bathing suits, shorts (too cold in Oklahoma for these now) and our personal grooming items. (Shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushed, combs, hair ornaments and such) Many of these things, including a couple of packages of new socks are unopened to be used at WDW exclusively. (till after we return home.

I have bought all of my film and have them packed in a ziplock bag for the carry ons, and I have a box (that I will be sending to myself) set to the side, which I put snacks and other stuff in which I want to not have to pack in my suit cases. We have our gloves and the kids costumes already packed. (For the Character Breakfast)

I've started a packing list of what is packed and complete list for what will be packed :)

This is a big trip for me, I don't want any thing to go wrong.
Happy packing.

Big Mickey suitcase is layed out on the bed in the guest room, and I keep throwing things in there. When it's gets closer I'll start making sense of my mess. :D

One suitcase and one carry-on, and my purse. :)

Tia, just how big is the purse? :D

I don't start packing until at least the day before usually. I do however get a box that I throw things in that I know i will need and most likely will forget unless I do that.

I have this huge suitcase I am bringing so I will just have a carryon for the pins, my fanny pack and necessarys in case the suitcase mysteriously disappears.

I have a backpack that I bought especially for this trip. Now everytime I go to the store I tend to pick up a little something to put in that back pack. Mostly it's things to keep Caitlyn busy on the plane, sun screen, toiletries, and the like. I also started a box of all our summer clothes that I am wanting to take.

I think we will be bringing a total of 4 suit cases.... all large and have a hard shell. 2 laptops as carry ons (I will have to do a *little* work while I am there... and Dan could NOT go anywhere without his laptop, a back pack (with my purse tucked inside), and a overnight bag for Caitlyn.

I have no idea what my best friend is plannning on bringing. She lives in San Antonio and is connecting on our flight out of Dallas. I went a head a booked a mini van to make sure we had enough room. I will also be traveling with my electric scooter and Caitlyn's stroller.

I can't start the actual packing yet because my cats go crazy the minute they see the suitcases! The first thing they do is to jump in, and it goes downhill from there! I am making the list already so all I will have to do is check things off as I throw them in. :D

Perfectmatch, so are you saying that you have some unhappy cats when you go traveling :) ?
LOL, pur pets are so spoiled!!
Mine pouts when we put her tic and flea control on her. (Frontline, you have to go two days without touching the animals) Even if we go out and spend time with her (outside dog {Blue Healer} she still pouts and tears up anything that is left out for her to get to.
Rotten dog!!

I've started to (secretly) start packing!! LOL Nothing in suitcases yet, but bags stacks of clothes I don't want to forget sitting around. And things I've just bought still sitting in bags!

Hey Gerri! How do you go about mailing the package to yourself? This sounds like a good idea that I might like to do, also! How far in advance do you mail it? Do you just address it with your name and the hotel address, since you don't know a room number yet? I think you are staying at ASMo like us, right?

Thanks!!

I did it!
I started it today!
I hope nobody in my house realizes that yet (the kids are spending the weekend with dad), because someone is going to say that this is a weird thing to do. Anyway, my suitcase was already close by-- I didn't put it away after my trip to Seattle, in august.
I am almost through with my trip shopping -- got the shorts, the pants, the sneakers, I only have to get a decent enough bathing suit. Woohoo!!!
Got my hair cut yesterday.

Now I only have get my new ticket at Delta's office, wait for my cruise documents and survive 30 more days...

Yes, Gerri, my cats are VERY spoiled, but they are sweeties. They will be well cared for while we're gone, DH's 2 DD's will be over to take care of them, and theymake sure to give everyone a little special attention, but it's just not the same to them as having us home.

I'm starting to get into planning mode again. It's been a bit derailed lately, but we're starting to get excited again with only 4 wks to go. :D

My idea of packing will be throwing whatever I can find in the suitcase that I take down from the attic 10 hours before the trip. I am thinking more about this trip and what to bring than I have in the past, as I have never gone at this time of year before....So, I am sure you guys will all have a good laugh as to what I throw together...lol

OK, I confess.......Got my suitcase out of the basement last week. Put it on the bed in the spare bedroom and every time I think of something I throw it in there (Santa Mickey ears hat, shorts, Disney shirts, poncho, lime green ribbon.......).
I'm allowed to take 2 suitcases (max. 36 kgs each!!) and one carry-on, but I limit myself to one suitcase (and a carry-on).

I never really "unpacked" after my Disneyland trip, so I've got a lot of stuff on top of Bandie's kennel just waiting to hop into my suitcase when the time is right.

I'm having Thanksgiving with my brother and his family, then my niece's wedding on Friday (I'm in charge of the music for a "country" wedding), the reception Friday night, and then to DIS-Con on Tuesday. I'll be amazed if I get anything done before Monday night.....

We usually pack the night before we leave. If we started any earlier the kids would be bouncing off the walls and forever asking how many moresleeps until we leave.

Glo...I don't know what to pack either. I have no idea what the weather will be like. We have never been to WDW let alone at this time of the year.

I need to start making a list of what to bring. I've been there right after Thanksgiving for the last 3 years. Last year Thanksgiving week was COLD - so be sure to bring warm layers - especially for the evening.

I don't want to panic anyone, but I would definitely plan on being a bit cold....that humidity makes it seem much colder than it really is!!! :earseek:

Shannon, I forgot that this is your first trip......how terribly exciting!!! :bounce:
What kinds of things do you have planned? Such as 'must-see' shows and parades, etc.? :)

WOW! Drink around the world, karaoke, and now a real life Saturday night chat from the hot tub! This is shaping up to be better than I thought!! This is great-I never get to do the Saturday night chat's. The one time I actually did get there, it was a dead night and no one was there! Now I get to do one for real. Ahhhhhhhh, I can see us now-sitting in the nice warm hot tub with drinks all around. Sounds like heaven to me. Although, you'll never see me in a itsy bitsy teenie weenie anything! :p :p ;)

FIRST TIMER TO WDW and I have already started packing. The seasons have changed
here in MO. and so rather than packing the summer stuff away I have thrown it into
a suit case. I know I must pack for winter/summer??? Weather can be so unpredictable.
I tell ya I can not hardly sleep at night for worrying about what to take along......
I hate to see how nervous I will be the week before we leave. We leave 11-28-01!!!!
Can not wait!!!

All I can tell you is when I was down in December last year, jeans and a long sleeve shirt were the exception rather than the rule. One can always layer and take stuff off (Barry :D) when it gets warmer.

And you won't catch me in no itsy-bitsy teenie-weenie anything either. The surgeon promised a "bikini cut" before my operation. The reality was quite a bit different.

Barb and bikini are two words that definitely do not go together! I think the last time I was in a bikini was when I was 10! ;)
I did do some serious packing type stuff the other night. I got together my WDW Christmas shirts, sweatshirts, and socks. That's all piled neatly by the dresser along with a bathing suit, and some other things I might be taking. I won't do the shorts thing until we get closer and I can check weather. Gotta find my WDW hat, gloves and scarf.
