OK, so my DF and I are having our wedding at the WP next august. My question is, after the ceremony at the wp, can you walk over to the GF and use the monorail to get to the CG at the contemporary? (that's where we are having our reception). DO we HAVE to get a bus for everyone? I think it would be really cool to get on the monorail and head over to the contemporary. Is it even allowed???? Maybe only for the guests?

yeah you can take the monorail, we did when we had to get back from the contemporary to the GF for our wishes cruise (the 4 hour limo had run out). you can use any of the WDW public transport. we even got photos on the GF beach with the monorail in the background! (it stopped behind us and honked its horn at us and everyone on it was waving!)

Yes, I was told by my wedding consultant that you can take the monorail from GF to the Contemporary in your wedding gear. They even let you set in the front!!! :Pinkbounc

Make sure you bring your photographer or at least a guest with a camera. We had our picture taken on the monorail, and they turned out very cute. We didn't take it anywhere just got the pics but they were very nice and accomidating for us.

You can certainly walk from WP to GF but depending on the day in August, it could be hot and humid. Something for you to think about especially in a wedding dress. :)

When we went for the site visit, I told the SM that I wanted to take the monorail. He spent the afternoon trying to get me to change my mind! Lol.. He kept saying it wasn't a good idea, I could ruin my dress, they couldn't guarantee I would ride in the front (whatever, so you wait for the next one..) For me riding the monorail on my wedding day is not negotiable! :teeth: I'm just not the kind of girl who swoons over Cinderella's carriage..
Your guests will probably still need a bus from their hotels to the WP, and from CG back to their hotels. So yes, you will probably still want to arrange a bus. We will have a few people in our party, like the grandparents, who will probably not want to walk from WP to GF. It is a good 5 minute or so walk, and in August it will be rather hot out. (just something to consider..)
