Hello All,
I have been lurking for about 2 weeks and now here is my introduction…
My name is Charlene and we got engaged over dinner in 2002 at Cinderella’s royal table, hence why we are having a Disney wedding
We currently have our date set for January 23rd 2007 at Sunset point, but I am still torn, I love this location and I also love the wedding pavilion so any opinions would be great!
For all the past brides I have seen your photos and they all look amazing and I just can’t wait for my day!
Cheers,
Charlene

Hi! Im a (well going to be a) WP bride so I'm a little partial. I think sunset point is gorgeous, your right its a tough decision! The only thing I would be worried about is the weather in January, but hey it is florida right?

Welcome, and congrats.
I'm a Sunset Pointe bride. We did December, so I would assume the weather would be about the same. It wasn't too cold, it is quite windy at the point though, but everyone was fine without coats, including me.
My only consern for Sunset over the WP is the amount of people allowed, I believe they just lowered it to 8 only. But they chage things all the time so you might be able to swing a person or 2 more (we had 9), and I've heard of people having huge things there so I don't know why they've started limiting it.
The only other concern would be rain. It rained the morning of our ceramony and I was terrified that we would get bumped to a ballroom, but it cleared off and it was PERFECT. The weather ended up beautiful, and to be completely honest, my day wouldn't have been the same had I done any other site. You just have to decide if you want the worry of rain or not, that's the only real concern with Sunset. I did tour the pavillion, and I just didn't have the feeling I had at Sunset, so for me it was no question.
Good luck with your decission. Either way your day will be magical.

The WP is beautiful and safe weather wise... but the pictures at Sunset Point can be stunning with the sceneries and skies.. If you have enough time, you could get married at WP then go over the Sunset Point (might have to commandier a cart) for additional pictures.
Can't go wrong with either.

That sounds a good idea - that way you get the 'best of both worlds'!

Both are beautiful locations! I love sunset point but if weather is a concern then the WP is the "safer" option and that is gorgous too!

Hi! :wave2:
I'm a fellow Canadian and we are having our Intimate at Sunset Pointe on January 20th.
We were originally going to marry in the Caribbean and due to some family-related circumstances, we decided on Florida instead. If we can't have the Caribbean, we're going with the next best thing: Disney and Sunset Pointe.
The average daytime temperatures in late January is 22 degrees Celsius (heaven for me) and there is not much chance of rain.
As an aside, I've also read on these boards that DFTW has stopped booking Sunset Pointe during the hotter months of the year. So I feel that we are one of the lucky few to be able to take advantage of a very small Intimate ceremony in a beautiful and unique location.
Having said that, the limitation Sunset Pointe has on the number of guests allowed can be a problem. In our case, it has forced us to be very selective and keeps our guest list small like we had originally intended.
Congratulations and good luck deciding on your location! :goodvibes
