I posted this also on the resorts board, but was hoping for some more input. I have ressies at the Poly for end of Jan. with my DH and 1 yo son - it will be our first family trip. I was told at the Poly that the cost of a fridge is $10 per day. At first, we thought no big deal, we'd just bring a cooler and keep it filled with ice (we're driving down so space not an issue). Then just for the heck of it, I called CRO and asked about the GF. Both hotels are with code rate, and GF for same time frame is additional $170 total with FREE fridge and microwave. Now I'm torn between the two, even though GF still works out to be more. I've stayed at both and like both. I always loved Poly more but I've been reading lately a good number of negative posts re: smell, condition of room, etc. I've never read anything negative about GF rooms - my only complaint had been with the price. Also, a poster mentioned that she received at GF a full size crib vs. Pack 'n Play which my son's never slept in, whereas the Poly is only Pack 'n Play apparently.

Any advice from people who've been to either resorts with kids similar ages?

Thanks!

We've stayed at the GF quite a few times with my children starting at 3 months old. I would personally prefer the GF over the poly. I have never cared much for the poly except for an occasional resort visit or meal. The GF seems brighter and more "airy" than the poly to me. They both have brand new theme pools. My choice: GF!

Thanks for your reply - that's what we chose! What building did you stay in?

I never remember these name. We were always in the building "behind" the old main pool with an MK view. In Septemeber, we were at the 2nd building on the right as you pass the old pool. Also with an MK view. Never a disappointing room yet!
