New clothes for DisCon

Has anyone else bought some new clothes for the convention?

I know Steve has a great new jacket, and that Barry needs pants. Some of you are even talking about gloves, tuxes, and tails!

I didn't buy much this summer, and I think I'm going to have a real clothing problem when I start pulling things out to pack. So far all I've bought is a new pair of running/walking shoes, a lightweight vest, and a pair of those mini stretchy gloves, in case it gets cold.

What about you, are you prepared, or do you still have some shopping to do?

I got a Mickey Santa hat from the Disney catalog. That's probably all the shopping that I need to do. :)

Snowark - I am buying new clothes for Dis Con because if I wear what I have I will not be a pretty sight. hehehehehehe!!!!

I am planning on bringing layers so that if it is hot or cold I will be prepared. Only problem is that I will have no shorts to bring instead, as the ones I have are now 3 sizes larger than I am!!! Yikes!!!!

I will have a blast buying stuff before hand!

I've gotta buy some new jeans and shorts. I haven't lost as much as Ms. Glo, but most of my pants fall off if I don't quarter them and put on a tight belt. Got my Fantasyland meet hat, got my Mickey Santa hat....I'm almost all set.

I was just at Dillards this morning and found so many things I wanted for my trip to WDW, but they were all waaaaaaaaaaay too pricey for this poor lady. :( :(

I think I might end up in jeans a lot of the time, because I don't see when, where, or how I'm going to have time to go back to the resort to change into warmer evening wear. :confused: I think I'll just leave in the morning with jeans and sweatshirt or light jacket tied around my waist. :rolleyes:

Ok. Patrick took the wedding pictures you sent me to the tux place and had an expert, there size you up...lol. I just put a deposit on a white tail tux, with top hat, cane and white gloves for the week of 11/27 to Dec 3. So, now you have no choice but to go to the tea. As for those running shoes....lol...I have been working out everyday and I can catch you anyday....rotflmao...




Ms. Mackey dear I want to see that tiara of yours? Let me get this right, you are going to wear white gloves, a tiara, and casual park wear??

I'm bringing my camera to the tea, FOR SURE!!! Patrick in a tux and top hat, and Marsha in her tiara. These are the moments of our lives! :p :p
As for my wearing apparel, I picked up a few neat shirts while in WDW. I actually bought a holiday shirt and sweatshirt at a tent at the AK set up with tons of Christmas stuff! Other than that, I have my other Disney shirts and sweatshirts. I will be in jeans if it's cool or cold, otherwise it's shorts for me! I have a great pair of sneaks that are broken in just perfectly. I have my Santa Mickey ears hat and my Minnie ears headband. I have my WDW gloves and hat, just in case it's really cold. I do believe I'm almost all set. I'm getting my giant suitcase down from the attic this weekend and I'm going to start loading it up.

Can someone please tell me where to go, er, um, :rolleyes: I mean can someone please tell me where to find a 'what to pack' list? I know that there are some real 'doozies' out there and I used to have a couple of them bookmarked, but now I can't find them. :rolleyes:

I think my own list is pretty all-inclusive, but inevitably I always forget something that someone else remembers. ;)

One of them that I used to have was everything listed in alphabetical order....that was awesome for a control freak like myself!!! :D

Barb, I knew there was a reason I hadn't signed up for the tea, but I had to check my intinerary to see what it was.

The tea is on the 30th, right? I was planning on doing the RnR coaster meet for newbies (trying to anyway) at MGM, then heading over to AK for the lunch and Safari. If the tea doesn't start until 3, that doesn't give me any time to rest up, lol, for DATW at 6. If I manage to get on RnR coaster, I know I'm going to need to lie down at some point during the day! :eek:

I am getting ready to go...
I got a new pair of pants and new walking shoes. I am going to get one more pair of shorts and a new bathing suit . I am borrowing wool sweater from my whole family except the kids, and mittens and scarves.
I must be really careful with packing bc I am going away for 20 days!!!

And the greatest news is that my boss confirmed my 45 day vacation! Yipee!!! I deserve it.

My new digital video camera finally arrived on Thursday! Now all I have to do is figure out how to use the darn thing before DIS Con! :confused: Can't wait to get videos of all my DIS friends and all the holiday decorations!

Livia, I envy you having 45 days vacation!!! I don't get that many in a whole year!!!

I went shopping for DisCon clothes this weekend. Came home with a cardigan, 2 identical pairs of shorts, and a glass doored hutch-buffet combo thingy for my kitchen.

Don't you love when that happens? You go out looking for something in particular, and out of the blue, you come home with something totally different. The wonders of shopping, it's a good thing. ;)

BTW, no white gloves, tiara, or sequins.

Did buy two sets of cords for the trip and three sweaters...I also managed to find a pair of shorts for three dollars. So it can be hot 1 day while I am down there....lol

Livia, 45 days! That's incredible. But, I know it's well deserved-you do a tremendous amount of work for one person! Way to go!! I wish I could bring a video camera. I love doing that stuff. But, my video camera is just too big to lug around. Someday I hope to get one of those teenie, tiny ones.
