Yes, I know it's a year and a half away, but you can never start thinking about a Disney trip too early, right?
I am planning a Magical Gathering for my 30th Birthday at WDW. If I have to turn 30, it might as well be there, right? Not sure of dates, or how many nights yet, but will be around Dec. 13, as that is when my birthday is. I know we'll be doing Hoop-De-Doo that night for sure.
So anyone else looking that far ahead that wants to form a support group with me?
Also, wondering if anyone knows approximately when the WDW Holiday Parade (the one they show on TV) is taped? I am hoping to be there for that.
I have never been there during the holidays before, so I am excited about all of the new things to do!

:wave2: Hello
I am planning our trip for December 2007 as well. We will be staying from December 3 to 13. We are looking to rent points from a DVC member this time, first time trying this out. It will be myself, husband 3 year old DD and our new baby who will be born in March 2007. I am so excited and cannot wait to get there. I will be taking my oldest DD to the Perfect Princess Tea Party and I know she will love it.
I believe that the pararde is taped the first Saturday or Sunday of December, so in 2007 that would be the 2nd or 3rd.
I love the support group idea, how about we keep updating our plans as we make them and post them here on this thread?

Ok we are so bad, we haven't even gone on our FIRST trip yet to WDW and we are already planning for Dec. of 2007 to stay at WDW again! This year we are going at the end of Sept with DS (4), DS (2.5) and DS (at time of travel 6months) Are we nuts? Heck Yeah! :rotfl2:
But with all the planning we've been doing for our first trip we've gotten so excited that we already know that we will want to do it again...Plus the timing of the trip works in great for me to avoid a certain family gathering that I can't stand! I get WDW magic and avoiding relatives I can't stand, can it get any BETTER??? :woohoo:

WOW! We haven't gone on this trip yet either and are already planning for December 2007!! I am a teacher, so we are planning for hopefully the week before Christmas. My daughter will turn 8 on the 16th, so hopefully it will be in WDW!! We are also planning on renting points from a DVC member for the trip. I have heard it is awsome at Christmas. Looking forward to seeing it "snow" on Main Street!!!!! OP thank-you for starting this thread!!! It is never to soon to start planning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy (I have a 4-day Wonder trip coming up in August and a trip planned in late Oct/early Nov) that I'm already planning on an early December 2007 trip.
We were down in 2003 for Christmas and loved the decorations and the MVMCP!! This is just going to be a trip for me and my Mom (at least at this point) and I'm planning it as a surprise to her. We'll see how long I can keep the surprise (a year and a half is a loooong time)!!

Thanks for the replies! Great to hear from all of you! Let's keep this going for the next year and half!
The "cast" for this trip will be me, DH, and our daughter who will be 3 1/2 then. My inlaws want to go, and I am trying to talk my mom and step-dad into it (mom is game, step-dad is hesitant). Also my dad and brother would probably go. My grandparents would love to get to Disney "one more time" (I hate when they talk like that), but I'm not sure if they actually will.
I think with a group that large, the planning and coordination almost has to start now.
So any December veterans, what is the weather generally like?

We are looking into a Dec 2007 - the days after Christmas through New Years. I know this is the CRAZIEST time to go, but I will take it over nothing at all.
We have a trip planned end of Nov 2006 and also looking at June 2007, along with Dec 2007.

I think we're *tenatively* planning a trip in Dec 2007. We've never been to Disney (sad I know ;)) and have planned on a few different occasions to go, but something always comes up. The most recent thing that came up is our newest "surprise" that's due Jan 2007. ;) I didn't want to go to WDW pg, so we've postponed our trip until Dec 2007. :(
Has anyone taken an 11 month old to WDW before??? That's how old our newest babe will be once we finally (and hopefully!) get to go. Our other kids will be 7 and 3 at the time of the trip.
I look forward to trip planning w/ all of you! :goodvibes

Especially my dh who didnt even want to go in the 1st place! Anyone know which week is better? alos are there any good DINGS that time of year?

I'm looking forward to December 2007 too! Although I'm going a couple times before that, December 2007 is when I plan to take my longest solo trip ever. There's just so much I plan to do during that time it won't fit in one week. So glad to see others thinking about it already too.
Hooray a thread for December 2007! That means it's close enough to really start thinking about it. We are looking at Dec 19-25th and renting points also.

Does anyone know when we can go ahead and book? (package + dining) I don't know how far out their computers go. :) I feel like once I send my $$ dh would be more inclined to actually GO this time. :rotfl: I've had a hard time convincing him that WDW would be fun-and worth the $$. He's pretty excited about it now, but it's just so far off!

We went last year Nov 29-Dec 5 and it was perfect weather! The parks are all decorated for Christmas. It is a great time to go! :lovestruc

Oh, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one planning a trip 16 months away! :cool1: We took a trip around July 4th for our honeymoon, and as soon as we got back, we started planning our next trip! It was going to be a bit earlier, but we found out that my step sister is getting married in the Bahamas in September 07, so it got pushed back. We'll be at POR from the 10th to the 16th, hopefully avoiding those pesky POP Warner crowds. :cheer2: I can't wait to see the World all decorated for Christmas. And after the crowds of Independance Day, I'm looking forward to a bit of breathing room from the off season. :yay: (Personal space, people!)

Any of you December '07 people getting even more excited now that the 2007 packages are out? Part of me wants to go book right now just because I can. But we are doing a family magical gathering for my 30th birthday, and I have lots of people to coordinate with, who aren't fans of planning this far ahead like me.

I kinda half way expected there to be a December 2007 thread...and went searching for one....and voila! here it is!
We're just back from a mid-Oct vacation to Disney, and now planning to go during my son's birthday in 2007. He'll be 7 and my daughter will be 3 1/2.
Planning on Dec 8-15, 2007...Assuming we can scrape enough pennies together to make it happen!

I too have been busy planning for our up coming trip. However I only plan about 1 year out and make room reservations. Then at 90 days I start with the ADR. This visit willbe the first time we have ever done a package. Since the kids will be 14 I thought that the dining plan might be a good idea.
Now the waiting is just killing me. :teeth:

I am so excited to see this thread! :cool1: We booked our December trip as soon as they were made available, back in August. I didn't think to look back then for a thread like this, thinking I was the only one this excited to be going on a WDW trip that was still so far away.
My DH and I absolutely love going there. We went in July of 2002 and of 2006. Before we even returned from our last trip, we knew we wanted to go again, but this time for the holiday season.
We are sooooooo looking forward to seeing how everything is for the holidays. What we have seen of it online, so far, is amazing!
We'll be stay at POR for the first time (did All-Star Music and Pop Century before). Our trip is from 12/21/07-1/1-08. Not only will we be enjoying Christmas and New Year's there, but also celebrating our 8th anniversary!!!
Any tips on how to make it the best holiday and anniversary ever? :cloud9:

Some of you guys have booked already? We're doing a mini-magical gathering (my, DH, DD, DH's parents, and my dad) and I've been to lazy to start coordinating everything, because I know there will be disagreements as to who wants to do what/stay where/leave when. But seeing that some of you have booked gives me the push I need to start planning!
We'll be there Dec. 9 - 15. Haven't decided where we are staying yet. Looking at either Carribbean Beach, or one of the Port Orleans.

Yeah, I know we made our initial booking in October and the reservation person said we were smart to do so as early as we did, because December dates get taken quicker than most people realize, especially for the time we'll be there (the holidays). After reading a bunch of message boards on the resorts, we did change our resort last night. We are now going to stay at AKL, which is where we've always wanted to stay.
Anyone been there before? I think it will be nice to go there in December.

We were just there for four days this past December. The decorations at the parks and resorts are beautiful. The weather couldn't have been better (near 80) but I'm sure that could go either way in December. It was way more crowded than I expected (Dec. 15 - 18), I thought more crowded than when we usually go in June.

Arriving the 30th of December and leaving 5th of January. It's been about 4 years since the last trip and we'll be bringing the Female Offspring (FO) who'll just have turned 17.

Just booked our trip Dec 19th thru 26th 2007 at the POLY.
This is our favorite hotel by far. We have stayed "on" and "off" property and love LOVE the Poly. Two years ago I used some hotel credits for a week at the Marriott World Center. I use Marriotts for travel and I prefer them over most others, however, although it was a very nice hotel, we wanted to be in the world at the poly (especially the night we had dinner at Ohana). So I will make it up to the family next Christmas! Wahooo!

Doing the happy dance because we booked Dec 1-5 at POR yesterday? It'll be me, DH, DS7 and DD3.5 -- and my parents (they've got their own room). They live on the gulf coast, so we're going to do 5 days at WDW then head to the beach for a few days.
Yesterday was a great day. We booked our trip and got a new puppy on the same day. They don't get much better than that! ;)

We haven't decided on the name yet. (blush) I had picked out Lily, but I don't think she looks like a Lily. The frontrunner is now Lucy, but I'm not sure that's right either. Any suggestions?

All our dogs (girl dogs) are named after Hanson songs (DD's favorite band) - we rescued one dog and named her Madeline, then we got a puppy named Penny....one of their songs is Lucy :) so good idea! :)

reading all of these is making me want to be there already. 293 days to go...yes, i am counting. i have a calender at work with the numbers written and one at home the same way in the girl's rooms (cross off each day as it goes by) we are staying por-mansions dec 18-26th. i am a little nervous about the sheer size of WDW...we did all of disneyland in about 3 days. i am just going to take deep breaths...several times a day. i also can't wait to not be buried in snow. imaging wearing shorts...or even a bathing suit...on christmas day. this will be a first!!!

Okay, I think we've got several "official" December 2007 threads going here! That's okay!
I just booked for December 10 - 16 at Pop Century. I'll be there for my 30th birthday. Thought spending my birthday at Disney might take the sting off of turning 30! I'm a little nervous because we are taking my in-laws, and my dad. Hopefully that will all work out and we won't drive each other nuts!
Nine months from tomorrow I will be turning 30 at Disney World!
Woo hoo!

Hi Everyone,
This is a great web site. We have been to Disney World several times and it's so great to chat with so many other Disney fans. My kids always called me a Disney Freak! We are planning a trip December 9-15. We'll be staying at the Vistana Resort. I can't wait. We haven't been in a few years.
Thanks for all the great tips.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one planning a December trip! We just went last Sept and planned on waiting a couple of years before going back BUT in January I received a 40% off discount code an offer too good to pass up. We are now booked the second week of Dec at the GF! We are very excited!
We purchased the dining plan for our family (me, husband, 4 and 6 year old princesses). Does anyone have any tips for keeping additional food costs down?
Thanks.princess:

Seriously though, especially since it's your first trip, it's good to have that many days at your hands (if you're hitting the parks the whole time) so you can actually stroll through and enjoy the parks, take in the sites and not rush things. This is good also since you're going with kids and kids tend to putz around sometimes. :headache:

The person who started the thread should probably start writing on the front page all of the usernames, their dates of their vacation, and the resorts that they're planning to go...so in case if anyone wants to meet another member or what not, then they can. Plus, it helps from people reading from page to page to see if anyone is going on the same dates. That's what MOST threads like these do.

Re: the potential free dining promotion (I know it's going on in August/September, so the same question probably applies.)
Is the free dining promotion offered only if you pay full-price for your room. For instance, we're booked at AAA rate for our room. Would we have to make the choice between the AAA rate and the Dining Package, should that promotion be offered while we're there?
maryt01

im just realized that you said triple a rate. stop call disney. ask if you could get a better rate using free dining. it is usually cheaper to use free dining . aaa rate is not as good. call and ask. you could cancel trip and reschedule using dining free if it wors out better. this is not a problem, we disney fanatics do it all of the time!

Ok ya'll have been busy on this thread. I've got to remember to read it a little more often. been busy getting everything ready for our cruise in July. MVMCP tickets haven't sold out yet. Friends of ours just got them yesterday. Made all of our ADR's yesterday for the most part got everything we wanted at the times we wanted. Going to be up really early on 7/2 that's when they start booking the Candlelight and I'm going to get it on Christmas this time. Can't believe I'm planning for Christams in June but it will be here before you know it.
Oh I relized that I said where we were staying but not when we will be at GF 12/20-28th.
