I can't believe how quick this year has flown by ~ and that in only 6 months time it will be Christmas again. I know that a few of you have started Christmas shopping (I picked up a few things up in WDW before we came home in the NewYear).
What are the big 'must haves' this year. I think my girls might want digital cameras and dollars, so that'll be very easy this year.
I will refresh this thread each month to drive you bonkers and remind you to start your shopping early ~ even though you'll be want to shop for suntan lotion :rotfl:
Can I take this opportunity to be the first to wish you all a very

We have got so much to fit into the next 6 months, we are moving in with my in-laws over the summer holidays so that wse can look for a place to buy and not pay out nearly £700 in rent. I am hoping to pick up a few things over the pond in October. We have booked at a great time this year. We arrive back on the 28th October, its then halloween, then Bonfire night and before you know it we will have the trees up and swap all our cards and pressies on the boards :cheer2:

I got my daughter a chicken little playset (clearanced for $1.99 at the disney store), and I lucked out on one of my sons presents. I drive for ups..sometimes (in my own vehicle) and I got a run to indiana, close to illionois. I seen a sign for a video game store closing down and it was there last day. It was almost 9, and I thought they may already be closed but they weren't! I went in, and I got a BARGAIN. I got my son a gameboy sp, metal carrying case, car charger, home charger, 13 games, and 3 videos for...........
$85.00!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I pretty much grabbed all that was left. My son really wants the nintendo ds, but i couldn't pass up on this deal.

I can't wait for Christmas this year - we'll hopefully have moved into our new house by then (I won't believe it's ours until we've got the keys and are walking in the door with removal men closely following!!!) Am already planning where to put the Xmas tree (DH threw away our two old ones last week during our clear-out so I'll have an excuse to go shopping for new decorations for the new tree!!). Can't buy any pressies yet until we move - got too many books/CDs etc for the removal men to cope with, so DH has banned me from buying anything until after we move. I'll have to dig out a Crimbo CD now!! (even though I am feeling extremely hot and sticky today!)

Has anyone seen any bargains recently ? Don't forget to let us know and before long we'll be on Christmas Card watch too, ready for when the first Christmas stuff hits the shops.

DD has already hit the argos cat, and wants everything that is pink, and something off every page in the toy section, hmmmmm.
She even told me to write the toy down for santa, her words were "i tell you what to put on my list and you write it, as i am too busy looking"
Glad she is 4 and will forget most of the things. lol.

The only trouble with Christmas is I will be another year older two days beforehand! :sad2: The good thing is, it will almost 2007 and I can say 'we off to WDW this year' :woohoo:
Got the last Lightening McQueen Ride-On in Tesco last night  Thought I'd left it too long but decided it was worth a visit to see if I could get it for less than £10 before I tried the Disney Store for £25!
Have started making a note of everything Molly asks for - there is no way she is getting most of it but I always seem to draw a blank when people ask (especially as her birthday is Mid November)
Have started cutting for the Christmas cards too - Angels this year but maybe something different for the DIS cards!
I have been looking at the studio cards catalogue at the lights and I am wondering if Declan and a Christmas tree in the same house is a good idea. May just go for the short fibre optic tree on a table this year.

Well there's only 3 months to go, so how is your Christmas Shopping coming along ??
I think I've got over half of my pressies now. I got DD15 her TV/DVD combo last week, and I've saved over £40 by buying my DVD's, calendars, books & a computer game through Amazon.
I've bought some lovely Princess cards and wrapping paper from Wilkinsons, and I'm just waiting for Asda to get their Crimbo stock in, as I usually get my Mickey Mouse cards from there.
Please let me know if you see any Christmas stuff in the Disney Store.
Thanks

I'm hiding a big pile of gifts in the wardrobe in the spare bedroom - even have items for my DH's secretaries! And a I had a good idea for my DS yesterday - he's 21 and can be a challenge... :cool1: I've made quite a few Christmas cards (looking forward to the Dis exchange) and I'm still planning an impromptu visit to DLP for some special items. It's my DD's birthday on December 23rd so I get to buy her lots of prezzies - she's a Disneyaholic too so that's easy... :earsgirl:

I got him off ebay (us site). Theres some great stuff on there compared to the uk site. Just the shipping that makes things cost more. Bought my hubby the cruise passporter off Amazon today too (I might just have to read it before I wrap it up though :rotfl2: )

Got most of my prezzies bought or at least know what I'm getting - all except for my Mom and Dad :confused3
Havent a clue. Been racking my brains but still drawn a blank. They are sooooo hard to buy for. Mom doesnt like practical stuff but doesnt like girlie stuff either. I always buy Dad a ps2 game so I was looking to think of something different this year. I was thinking of garden lighting but they have lots already. Any ideas?
I make my own cards for xmas, so I'll be starting that after our halloween party on Saturday (I take over the dining table for a week!)
Whats everyone doing for xmas dinner? we have the usual dilemma every year of whose paents we go to, or have over etc and try to do the juggling act of seeing everyone.

Yes Florence, the Mickey & Minnie tree topper is nicer than the Tinker Bell one, but it was a bit too heavy for my tree. I was so lucky this weekend, as I bought some stuff yesterday and when I went in again this morning there was new stuff on the shelves
Mandy :)
I thought both were very heavy and could not imagine the top branch holding either

Well even if I have to use sticky back plastic and super glue, that topper is going on my tree (mind you it may have to stay on there, even when the tree's been put away) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

...Got most of my prezzies bought or at least know what I'm getting - all except for my Mom and Dad :confused3 Havent a clue. Been racking my brains but still drawn a blank. They are sooooo hard to buy for... I know what you mean - my MIL is very difficult. However she's just been to stay and was rather taken with Sky+ so we're getting that for her Christmas and birthday (also in December) which was an excellent result! :thumbsup2 I'm now almost done gift-wise... :woohoo:
...Whats everyone doing for xmas dinner? we have the usual dilemma every year of whose paents we go to, or have over etc and try to do the juggling act of seeing everyone... This year I'm going all out with a multi-course feast! We don't really do the extended family thing anymore as Christmas Day on the motorway lost it's appeal some years ago. My DD and her DF spend Christmas Day with us every other year - I don't really like sharing her but I've found that works pretty well. :rolleyes1

YAY! I do love Christmas. We bought the storybooks we are going to use with the toddlers yesterday. A couple of them have little puppet animals in them!
Decided the Christmas cards I was planning to make are going to be too complex for this year so I'm simplifying. I suppose being +ve it means I have made a start on next years cards!
Shopping pretty much done except for my parents who I always struggle with.
Will be able to focus a bit better when the kids birthdays and party are over.

Gosh hasn't this year flown by. I can't believe we are in November already.
I haven't bought a thing yet for Christmas but we have started planning. We were going to spend the day together at home but we have now invited David's parents down from Manchester, not sure if they will come yet but the offer is there. Next job is to decide what to buy, we are only buying for parents this year as we are trying to save up. If you have any idea's what to buy Dad's please post as they are always so difficult to buy for.

Haven't had mine either, but I got a lovely tea light holder from the Disney Store in London couple of weeks ago. Its not on their web site yet so I'm really glad I got it. When I was paying for it DH was buying me a Minnie Mouse in her pink PJ's that I'd had my eye on, I pretended not to notice as I thought it may be for Xmas but he gave it to me the same day. Ashley has said he'll get me Mickey in his blue PJ's with his star rewards (when he's earned 100 stars he gets a treat of his choice and he wants to use it on me, how lovely is that for a 10 year old to do). :lovestruc

I found this Christmas Tree that you can plug into your computer at our local garden centre. I assume you can do lots of stuff with it once it's plugged in, but I am not sure.. I am so buying it next time; it's only £7 so it's a bargain.

We shan't be doing ours for a long time, although we are researching christmas decorations this year to try and make things really nice. I'll let you know when we go, but it won't be until the week before christmas, which is when I get off school as we always do it together. :)
I think there is going to be lots of competition with our cousins this year ~ this year we bought 2 pumpkins so the cousins buy another one to stage us up! They are not getting away with it on christmas! I'll be putting christmas decorations on christmas eve if I have to!! :teeth:
