DVC waitlist

I was just wondering if anyone has ever been wait listed for rooms at Old Key West or any of the DVC resorts?

I haven't... and it's making me very nervous. I am going in October for the Food & Wine Festival and apparently so is everyone else...

My family and I are booked for 4 of our 5 nights... So do you think that we should just book at another resort for our last night? or Should I try and stick it out? Just let me know if any of you have had success on the DVC waitlist... Thanks! pirate: -mac

Hi, we've had success with the waitlists. What are you waiting for? I think there's still time for people to cancel, and at 31 days out, before the penalty of having the points change to more restrictive usage, there could be lots of activity.

Book a room elsewhere, I would, but be sure you can cancel it. I'm sending you pixie dust!

Why not book the last night at another resort, and then cancel it if your waitlist comes through? You can cancel a room-only reservation pretty late in the game (I think up to 48 hours) and still get your money back - check with MS to find out what the exact cancellation deadlines are.

We were waitlisted at OKW for last December because I waited pretty late to make my ressies. It was just for our last night, and we were going anyway, so I just had them do the automatic waitlist. It came through fine for us.

Of course, wait list is a lot easier to bear if you live close by and are driving. In our case, if nothing had materialized, we would have just gone home a day early and started planning another trip in a few months. If you're flying, I'd probably make a backup ressie at SSR. Just don't forget to cancel it in plenty of time.

We were waitlisted for a studio at BWV in October, and it came through earlier this month. Yesterday I went on the waitlist for one day in January, and I'm pretty confidant that it will come through. Good luck! pixiedust:
