I know last time we went to WDW they boarded DH's wheelchair first and then allowed me and my children to board. This time my parents are coming with us. My mother has some balance/endurance issues and will either rent an ECV at the parks or possibly get one from an offsite rental company. Since I have planned much of the trip around us being all together, I'd like for us to be on the same busses. I'm afraid that when we board with DH, my parents may not make it on the bus and there is no way mother could stand. I guess I could just wait and if she needs a seat I can give her mine. Does anyone have insight to share on this?

The buses can handle two wheelchairs and/or ECVs so if you rent your mother's ECV from offsite both can load at the same time. Also, the entire party (within reason) will board the bus at the sametime as the person in the wheelchair or ECV.
We tend to recommend renting from off-site as the ECV is available at all times (some of the hotels have LONG corridors) and are much more maneuverable than the ones Disney rents.

Just agreeing with Cheshire Figment. I would get an ECV from one of the off-site companies for her.
If there is already one wheelchair/ECV on board the bus when it comes to you, you can either split up and not go on the same bus or not get on and ask the driver to request another bus come to pick both of you up.
