Just got back from a 5 day stay at HRH. We had a deluxe room which was an upgrade due to my Loews card. I have stayed at the HRH many times in the past and was a little disappointed this time. Our room was fine though housekeeping seems to think that just pulling up the comforters and a quick pick up is fine. Not what I expect for this money. The pool was a little bit lower on water than usual and there didnt seem to be much cleaning going on around it. The thing that bothered me the most was the sand around the pool. It was full of cigarette butts and was only lightly raked each morning. The smoking on the area around the pool is a bit much and the staff that are running around the pool delivering food seemed very inexperienced and unfriendly. We finally got our milk and cookies after the third call and on the last night. The food at the pool was fine and the drinks were good. The breakfast buffet at the Kitchen restaurant was good (15.95) but the dinner menu was not the type of food that I like and the restaurant was not very busy at night. I haver been going to the Hard Rock since year one and I think this may have been it.

Oh no!!! We are going Oct 10 -15th, I hate CIGARETTE BUTTS ANYWHERE!!! Even if my kids are too old to eat them. I know the labour shortage is everywhere but really, at these prices... Not acceptable.
I think you should forward these comments to the resort. It is my impression that the Hard Rock is pretty good at listening to what customers have to say. Last year we stayed there in August. The Parks closed at 7:00 p.m. and they were closing the Hotel pool at 9:00 p.m. on the dot in the summer. There were a lot of angry guests. When we reported this to management they said the pool staff was instructed to keep the pool open to 11:00 p.m. as long as there was one person using it. We were guaranteed that this would not be the case when we visit this summer.

Fill out the survery asking about your stay. Since you have stayed at HRH before you have a basis for comparison. We just returned and found the total opposite during our stay, it was actually my BEST stay at HRH. I am sorry your vacation was less than expected.

I just completed the survey that was sent to me by e-mail and I sent it back to the manager. I will let you all know what comes of it.

I hope Universal get back to you with a response. I am going for 1 night to the HRH in Oct, staying in a delux room and I hope I enjoy my stay more than you did.

If you have issues, talk to Anthony Eulio. He is a great person and very acommodating. I stayed at the HRH and just got back yesterday at 12am. I am a smoker and I was very diligent about using the ashtrays even for flicking an ash. Personally, I never saw a single "butt" at the poolside. The staff were very good about getting an ashtray and keeping them cleaned while I was there (7/8-7/11).
Anthony is the recreation leader guy at HRH. I'm not sure of his title or his "pull" at the hotel, but I know he upgraded my room to a club room and sent me a free bottle of wine and nuts on my last day. If you have an issue especially at the pool, be sure to talk to him. If you can't get him on the phone leave him a voicemail, he will call you back!

Okay, now you've got to spill the beans on why you got upgraded - with that upgrade it must have been something pretty huge :smooth: :
