A top tip -- We love the Photopass system -- it gets us photos of each of us, and the whole family, that are professional and cute == and they look like we're having fun (which of course we are). That way I can get in the photos also, instead of just being behind the camera. Take every Photopass opportunity and then buy the CD (when you're spending thousands on the vacation, another $100 for the great photos they take is well worth the cost -- you can get prints at home for another $10-30, depending on how many you get). Be sure to "ham it up!" (And no, I'm not on commission to push the system -- I've just spent years of family vacations , without being in very many of the photos -- so it's nice to finally be part of the family in photos for posterity!). Look for special sites, like along the walkway from the hub to Tomorrowland, where you can get a photo with the castle behind you, and Tinkerbell in your hand. And keep asking them to have a Photopass person with Figment in Epcot (please)! :mickey: ;) ;)

I used photopass last year but did not order anything. I have not heard about the CD option. Could you tell me more, please?

I didn't know you could buy a disk either. How do they determine how much the disk is? Is it how many pictures you have on your Photopass?

In Late 2005/Early 2006, Disney's PhotoPass began allowing customers to purchase a CD with ALL of their Disney photos on it for $99.95. This also gives the customer the license/copyright to the photos so that they may be reproduced elsewhere. This CD can be purchased at Walt Disney World in three locations: Epcot's Camera Center, M. Mouse Mercantile in the Grand Floridian Resort, and at Toontown in the Magic Kingdom.

In addition to storing as many as 300 photos, each CD also includes a copyright release that allows you to reprint your photos at your local photo retailer.

We got some great photos from PhotoPass, but the one that I really wanted was one w/ the Castle in the background. That one did not turn out good, you can barely see the castle! So check them at the camera centers if there is one that you have your heart set on.....before you leave the parks!

The best souvenier we got on our last trip is our photopass photo of the whole family with the castle in the background. I purchased the 8x10 at the park before we left and they added a border with Minnie and Mickey and "The Happiest Celebration....." across the top. It was $16.95---BIG bargain.

I realized after we got home that it is the only photo we have with all of us in it. So that makes it even more special.

I will definitely be buying the CD, the photographers I ran into on our last trip were fantastic! Check out the pic below, Chad the nice young man I met came with me to the kennel, his suggestion by the way after we started talking about who I came to WDW with :) and took wonderful pictures. I travel solo alot..well no other 2 legged friend :rotfl: and it is so nice to get great pictures and not have to rely on CMs that are not used to my camera or other visitors to the parks.....Dillon is very smart but without thumbs he just can't get the hang of the camera :teeth:

I think Photopass is great and the CD can be a great deal if you get lots of photopass photos taken. We don't get enough taken to make it worth it.

Also you can no longer add any enhancements to the CD photos so I'd rather just buy a couple of photos from the comfort of my home with the enhancements then pay $99 for the CD. The most photos we've ever had taken with Photopass was 58 and many were either duplicates/triplicates or they weren't that great so I bought 2 or 3.

The photopass CD is $99 no matter how many photos you have up to about 350 so the more you have taken, the better the value.

You can also order the CD when you get home but still no enhancements will be added.

so if no enhancements will be added... how can you do this yourself ??
I thought the big advantage of these photos on the CD where the enhancements ....maybe I am wrong ??

You can have enhancements added to the photos if you buy them individually through Disney on when you get home online at the Photopass website.

But if you want to buy ALL your photopass photos and put them on the CD then they will not do the enhancements. It took way too much time to put enhancements on up to 350 photos for each guest.

The big advantage of the CD is that $99 for all you photos is much cheaper then buying them individually, printed by Disney. At Disney and online at the Photopass website, they are $12.95 each for a 5x7. So if you have 100 photos taken, the CD would be a cheaper way to go.

We recently got our digital camera and have not been anywhere yet where we would need to empty our memory card. Is there anywhere at Disneyworld where they will transfer the images from our card to a disk so I don't have to spend the money to buy another memory card for our trip?

Am I understanding this photopass thing correctly???? I can view my photos at home and then decide to purchase the cd or copies of the photos? So if we have photos taken and want to view them at home, so we still need to goto one of the three places metioned in a previous post to get a code or something or is that included on the pass they give us on the first day?

Are their photographers stationed all over the parks and they take our pictures when we ask?

Yes, you can now buy the CD either at the park (at the 3 locations mentioned) or online at home. You can view them before you decide whether to buy the CD or just buy the photos individually through Disney.

Your code to get online will be on the back of the Photopass card.

There are Photopass photographers at the entrances to the parks and other various locations (character meet & greets etc...)

There are places to have youer digital camera cards put onto a CD. Here is my word of advice though.... Depending on how many photos your card holds use a person to transfer rather than the Kodak machines. I cannot remember how many the machine can put on a CD but the people can do more (and they are both 12.95) I use two cards and have them burnt onto one CD. ALthough warning withthis make sure the person doing the burning for you unserstands this or they will charge you for 2 CDS and will not "fix" it once it is done.

Photopass is a great thing, The say we left we went to get it, you can edit your pictures add boarders and such and get the original and the edited, but this is only at the park, that's what the CM told me as we were adding boarders to a lot of the prints. The Toontown cd when I was last there was only the photos from toontown/magic kingdom(i think) for 50

But when did you do that? They changed it to no enhancements on the CD about a month ago. This is a recent change.

Well, there's your answer then. They just changed the policy. They no longer add enhancements to the photos that are put on the CD. But if you buy them individually from Disney or at their online website, you can add the enhancements.

This new policy took effect about the end of May.

HERE's (http://www.register123.com/event/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x177271abcd) a link to buying the CD online and it states in 2 places that "Character signatures and borders are not included on the CD, even if you made edits to the photos in your account on DisneyPhotoPass.com".

I love the Photopass! It's just DH & myself so while I do enjoy laughing at our many "self-portraits" (you know, the one where your heads are together & then one of you takes the camera as far as your arm will go & then it's just your heads?!) we take throughout our trip, it was nice to have someone else take a great photo of the two of us together with a background!!

This year I am planning on buying the CD (seeing as how last year I spent over $100 ordering just a few pictures) and I'm wondering if I have 2 different photopass cards, do I have to buy 2 CD's? For example, DH and I each carry a card that way if we're not together for a photo op-no problem. So, I'm wondering if that's a bad idea now that I want the CD? Any insight? Thanks

My sister is going in the middle of Sept. and I'm going at the end. Would there be a problem with my taking her photopass card and using it so we could purchase it at the end of my trip and split the cost? There is about 10 days in between our trips.

Yes, I believe you can put two different cards from two close trips on one CD.

We are going in Aug. with a group of 14. We may split up for some things and I was wondering how many cards you can combine on one cd or can you get more than one card with the same code so they all go to the same cd? It would be nice if each group could have their own card. We would probably need 3.

We were at WDW June 11 - 17, and had problems finding PhotoPass CMs. The first day was the last day of Star Wars Weekends and we were at MGM, so it was probably too crowded to find any. There was a PhotoPass photographer with Jedi Mickey, though. And the 12th was the day Tropical Storm Alberto hit, so they were probably all hiding inside. Still, we didn't see all that many. We got photos in front of the tree at Animal Kingdom, and I did see one PhotoPass person on our way out of MK after lunch, but that was it.

We probably just had bad luck that week. :confused3

I know others have said this, but I think PhotoPass would be more convenient if the system could include the ride photographers and the photographers at the character dinners.

Is that confirmed??? You can put more than one photopass card on a cd??? We are traveling with 12 people and each family would want their own card because we would not be together all the time. It would be great for us to just get one CD!!!!!!!!

Just to let you know, you can also have the pictures taken at CRT added to the PhotoPass CD. Of course, when we went only one person knew how to do it, but it was well worth the wait! Just be certain to take your photos from CRT with you to the camera shop. Then, they'll type in the numbers from the corner of the 8x10 picture. This is just like adding another photopass card. They took the cutest pic of DD6 hugging Cinderella & we were afraid we would have to purchase it separate. We were thrilled to be able to add it to the CD!

Yes...I know you can put at least 2 cards on the CD. We added 2 cards & the CRT pics.

Yes, I saw it on the photopass site. I think there was a spot for 10 cards and an option to add even more, so it seems that as long as your # of pictures doesn't go over the limit, you can put as many cards as you want on one cd. We are overlapping our trip with my aunt and her family and I'm thinking of buying one CD and putting both of ours on it. I guess it depends on how many pictures we have taken if it will be worth buying. We never see any photographers. I guess I've never really looked before, but it would've been nice to have pictures together on our previous trips!

this is a great idea - we usually have lots of photo's of just one of us then the other one of us as it's usually too tempting and expensive to have the official photo's taken.
I presume the copyright release also covers the UK?

I got a CD when I was there in May

you can put up to ten photopasses on one CD and it will hold about 300 pictures - you get one free reburn in a one week period

when you buy the CD there is a photo release with it - so you own the pictures and can reprint them at will -

they plan to add photopass photographers all over the parks - at the resorts and character meals - their ultimate goal is to sell a photo cd to everyone who comes to the parks

I have made some designs that could be added to your photopass pictures - you can see them in my design gallery - there is a subfolder with them

on the creative design board there is a whole thread called photo enhancements that people have made for pictures

I planned on buying the CD when we were there in Jan. but unfortunately when I tried to do it on the last day at MK they told me I could only get ones from the MK there and only at Toontown. I didn't have time to go back. :sad1: I also didn't want to go to Epcot the next day just to get our CD. I now understand I could have gone to DTD on the following day (our day to fly home) and gotten the disc there. However, since we did have quite a few Photopass pixs taken, and I always give the photographer my camera, at least I have some pictures with me in them!

This time if we buy the CD I will make sure to look at the pictures before it's too late. :goodvibes

The Photopass system seems to keep changing, as they find out what works and what doesn't. The photopass card is free and can be used by the photographers at each of the 4 parks -- or you can get different cards and group them together online, and on a CD. They're only online for 30 days, so you wouldn't be able to group cards from other visits beyond that time. And if you group them yourself online, they won't be on a CD you buy at the parks (you have to have all the card numbers when you get the CD). The CD's are becoming available at more places -- they have added the Main Street photo location as a pickup place. I was able to add some enhancements online and save them using "print screen" for small snapshots and scrapbooking (using a photo program to crop them out) -- I don't think they would make good enlargements tho. They stopped including the "enhancements" (borders and dates) on the CD's because it takes too long to pick out photos and add them at the parks. I found that some of the photogs weren't even "up" on the latest changes in the program -- ask at one of the main camera centers for the latest info, and for where to find the photogs. They tend not to put photos up that haven't turned out well, so you might "lose" some sometimes -- if you're there long enough, you can try again. And there may be some/several duplicates (not sure how that happens). We had our Darth Vader photos redone during Star Wars weekend, because they used a black background the first weekend, and Darth just faded right into it -- the second weekend had a much better background. You can check out your photos before you buy anything -- so you are out nothing if you have a bunch taken -- and overall, they do a really good job (as long as the subjects cooperate!).

There is PP in the water parks. They give you a wrist band and you must view and purchase the photos before you leave the park. They can't add the pictures onto the plastic card you get at MK etc. You can't look at the pics online it is stricktly at the water park.
