There was a nice article in the Seattle Times on Sunday about a graduation ceremony for a transition program for Developmentally Disabled.

It's a nice article, but sad too. As parents of a child with multiple disabilities, our lives have been impacted all the time - we could not choose to move unless we knew what the available services would be (some states have almost none). Now that my DD is an adult, we can't move back to be with other family members in another state - because DD is "hooked up" with services here and if we moved, we have no idea how long the waiting list is. You can't get on the waiting list unless you are a resident of that state, so we are staying put where we are.
