We went the same time last year and ran into several families/friends- It was neat! The first day at MK, my oldest DS stopped and said- "Mom, there's Grant!!" I , of course, said "no, honey, it's not Grant. It's probably someone that looks like him. " Thinking, of course, he wouldn't be here- it's WDW! We are 8 hours away from home, there's tons of people here, and what is the chances of running into someone you know from home? :confused3 The next day at AK, guess who we passed in line for the Safari? Grant and his family! I guess it is a 'small world after all'! (I know- bad pun.....Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Hi Studentmom! Maybe we'll run into you! I mean, I'm sure we'll have to be in the same place at the same time during the week. I'm going to try and tag something of ours with a lime green mickey paint chip thingie from Home Depot. Definitely our hotel door or window, but maybe I can sneak one onto DF's backpack or something and on my little purse.

We're really hoping we get the same kind of weather, too. Last year we didn't even get those quickie thunderstorms in the afternoon....and no hurricanes! After having been to WDW when it was extremely crowded, last year was my first trip of not spending half of my vacation in lines!!! I can't wait!! :goodvibes

One of my favorite things to do at POFQ is wake up around 5ish, shower and head out to walk around, sit by the water, etc. and just enjoy the atmosphere when you pretty much have it to yourself. When the food court opens I fill my resort mug with coffee and just soak in the gorgeousness of the resort. Sounds corny, but it was sooooo relaxing from my usual hectic mornings back at home! I made friends with the squirrels that live there, too. Watching the sun rise over the water was just to die for. The walk from POFQ to POR is very nice, too...during the day and at night.

I'd recommend checking out Elliot Dyson in the Scat Cat Lounge ... I emailed him today and he got back to me and said that he won't be there on 9/9, but expects to be there 9/13-16. He puts on a great show - even kids enjoy it.

Do any of the other counties near Atlanta have the same week off?

Henry County is out for fall break the same week. I have heard stories similar to yours about GA families running into each other that week. This will be our first trip to Disney with our 5 year old. Staying at BWV Sept 17-22.

we stayed at pofq in jan 2005 and jan 2006 we enjoyed it there but thought we'd stay somewhere different this time so we are going to try the cbr, hope we like it as much as pofq

I am a native NYer and moved to SC 8 yrs ago...I LOVE to hear that "funny tawk"! I miss it!

I keep an eye out for the paint chips I might get some too. As for the tawkin funny DH moved to Long Island when he was 12 and he doesnt have any accent. Have a great trip.

By this time two weeks from now I'll be at WL, and while this will be my 5th trip to WDW over the years I'm having a hard time concentrating on my work.
Who'd of thought it be so hard to wait. I feel like the WDW ad, where the kids and parents are too excited to sleep.

Oh well, only 14 more sleeps as they say... :cool1:

I'll put up my "Alien Green" paint chips on my door, backpack, and lanyard. Maybe some of my fellow DISers will say howdy. Going solo this trip after DH
backed out due to work demands. No problem. I'm looking forward to a fabulous time.

I'll be at WL 9/9-9/14 and the Dolphin from 9/14-9/16. Hope to see some of you at the World!
