Inspired by the Disney Photo of the Day thread, I thought it would be great to start a thread for pictures from the parks other than WDW. It is really interesting to see the similarities and differences. I have spent many a trip in Disneyland Paris, so thought it would be interesting to those who haven't, likewise I was a young child when I last visited Disneyland California and have never visited Tokyo Disney (not strictly true, my parents drove me past when I was a child, but never took me in - how cruel!!), so would love to see pictures of those parks.
I'll start off by posting a few of my colder looking pictures from DLRP that were taken New Years day last year.

It's interesting to see snow in a Disney park. I'm guessimg that was Paris. I've only been to Disneyland and the World.

Those are great pictures.....whose castle is in DL Paris? DL has Sleeping Beauty and WDW has Cinderella's? The one in Paris is very beautiful.

Thanks. The castle is Sleeping Beauty's castle, and in my opinion, my favourite. It is actually very similar to the castle in the movie, including the square trees and beautiful landscaping

There are caves underneath the castle and they take you to this dragon that is chained up. It really is a fantastic anamatronic. Quite realistic and scary. Sorry the quality of the photo is poor.

I just tried to post some pictures from DLP but they turned out huge (haven't a clue why!)
So here is a link to the pictures instead:

Just a piece of info, the official name for the castle in the MK at DLP is Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant.

Danauk, they are great pictures. My last trip to DLRP was with the snow so I mostly have snowy pictures! I love the gargoyles round the Notre Dame. You should get them on other threads - piece of history that inspired a couple of Disney characters

I went to DLP in 2001, but all of my pictures were on standard film...did not have a digital camera yet. And my scanner is really really old. It will probably be awhile until I scan them in. I LOVE the DLP castle!!! :teeth:
Here are some pictures from Tokyo Disneyland that I took at the end of February. I will do DisneySea a little later if there is interest.
Tokyo Disneyland castle. You will find it pretty much like WDW's version except.....

Here are some from Tokyo Disneyland's unique Mainstreet USA:
The entrance into TDL after the ticket turnstiles. They have a really large courtyard/espalande area.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5861/1554/1600/DSC01965.jpg
As you can see in a farther shot here. (below) This is from the monorail station. The turnstiles you can see to the left and right, were lined up all the way back past the ticket booths to the monorail station at about 45 minutes before opening. :scared1:
When I arrived, it was backed up to the ticket area. So it was not that bad, but it seemed pretty backed up for being an hour before opening! THey are definitely early park tourers, the lines were totally gone (as you can see here) when I left at about 1:00 pm.

Is that an AristoCats ride in the last picture?
I don't think so, but let me consult my map.....
No, it says that the Aristocats is a little toy shop. It says "Disney character dolls, toys, souvenirs and apparel. Film available."
They really have a thing for Marie from the Aristocats. She is one of the main female characters along with the princesses and Minnie.

Michelle2, Thankyou so much for your great photos. I have never seen any pictures of Tokyo Disney, they are so interesting. Is Main Street under cover though? Why have they done that? It reminds me a bit of Paris' Walt Disney Studios. The idea is to create a Sunset/hollywood boulevard atmosphere and they do this by being indoors in a set which makes you feel you are outdoors and it is night!! Not quite WDW standards but still very good. I am really sorru for the quality - I had only just got my digital camera before this trip and had no idea what I was doing!!!

Hi, yes it is an attraction, however it is different to the WDW one (I think, have difficulty remembering). This is a walk through attraction of the inside of the submarine and features an attack by a giant squid and a lot of rocking. It's ok, but great for kids.
While on a tommorow land theme:

The same Hone I Shrunk Show as WDW, with a slight difference. When I last went on it, the voices were dubbed over in French, and we had headphones to listen to it in English (not the original either, someone in a French accent) :confused3

These pictures are so great! We've all known that parks outside the US exsist, but most of us are not fortunate enough to get there. It isn't often we get to see so many pictures from inside the parks and it makes me realize that the quality and detail is defanitely carried to ALL Disney parks.
Cool...very cool!

Thankyou so much for all the far east photos. I have never seen anything of these parks, they are fascinating. I hope there are more to come.
Ely3857 how was your experience of DLRP in the snow. My snowy pictures were taken new years day 2004 and the snow was just there for that one day. Quite magically really, strange to see snow on a carribean type area and they still let the fake snow fall with the real stuff :rotfl: It melted so quickly we were walking around in sludge, so our feet and trousers were soaked. We all had to buy new socks to replace and asked for extra small bags which we all put above our new socks to try and waterproof them from our shoes. It was sooooo cold (us southeners are not used to that weather ;) )

...Tokyo Disneyland looks awesome, and DLP doesn't look bad either.
Hong Kong Disneyland looks really cheap and small though. :confused3
it is, unfortunately. when you are there, it is very unfinished - lots of empty space everywhere. there were only about 8 rides in 4 lands, and the mainland-locals are not used to the concept of queueing. so they constantly cut in every ride and attraction - pushing others out of the way. the day we went, it sold out. it was 35 degrees, and there isn't to many places to shade yourself. so with 32,000 guests all trying to ride Buzz, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Teacups, Dumbo, the railroad, WtP, and Tarzan's Island, it made for an interesting day.
another thing - there were lots of cast members from the US.

I especially love the look of DLP at least the Magic Kingdom park. It really looks magical. :wizard: I think I have about talked my husband into a 5 year anniversary trip in 2008 to Paris with a side trip to DLP. Anybody been to France in August (that is when our anniversary is.....is it majorly hot & crowded......should we wait & go later & if so when is a good time to visit??)
DisneySea looks really amazing.
I agree that it just looks wrong to see a big mountain behind the castle in Hong Kong.........kinda doesn't work with the whole Disney forced perspective thing. :confused3

The pictures of DisneySea blow our minds! Everything is SO HUGE, SO DETAILED, and so frappin' awesome looking!
We live on cape Cod and couldn't believe one of the lands is named "Cape Cod". Is that actually a fact? If so, we are so honored to have Disney not only know of us, but name a land after us.
What kind of rides and attractions are at DisneySea?

Cape Cod does NOT look right with a mountain behind it! :lmao: It also needs more yuppies yelling about how their house that they built on a sand dune is going to fall into the ocean.
Seriously, now I have to go to Japan. I did some checking and found this:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8861080941911646238&q=disney+sea
While I don't think it would fly here in America (I could hear kids saying they were bored already) that has to be the most gorgeous night show I've ever seen in my life, even considering the quality of the video. If you watch it, please trust me and make sure you let it run a little more than halfway before you think about turning it off. I sure hope they sell that soundtrack in Japan in Epcot if nowhere else!!!

Hey, we resent that comment about "yuppies". My family has lived on Cape Cod for generations and you have to remember where Cape Cod's roots lie. Not yuppies, sailors, and retired wealthy people, but laid-back beach bums, who enjoy flip-flops, a modest Cape ranch for a home, and fried food by the beach or on their 13-foot boston-whaler!
Cape Cod at DisneySea doesn't look right anyway. It's far too big, it looks more like Mystic Seaport in Connecticut.

Eh, Disneyland Paris looks so depressing with the snow. That would just be so weird to me to walk around a Disney Theme park covered with real snow.

Great to see this thread reappear! Actually it really wasn't depressing at all. It actually was really exciting to have snow there. Yes the skies were grey, but it was such great fun to be able to play in the snow. It was also a really different thing to experience and the whole of the area looked really beautiful. The next day, it had all melted and we had a beautiful, crisp, sunny day.
