View Full Version : Tell me about the boats from Epcot to MGM Please!

Hi, we've taken the ferry from TTC to MK and small boat from MK to GF. But I saw a small boat at MGM and read that you can ride this boat from EPCOT to MGM. How long does it take? How often does it run? THX

The boats are part of the "Friendship" group, the same ones that go across the lagoon in Epcot. How long it takes, of course, depends on whether you have to wait for a boat, but generally assume 30 minutes or so. The boats stop at the Epcot resorts as you go. Nice way to go between those parks.

There are boats that make a circular route from MGM to Swan/Dolphin to Yacht Club/Beach Club to Boardwalk to Epcot, then back again. I'd say the run from MGM to Epcot takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the length of the stops. In the old days (pre-cuts), they usually had 2 or 3 running, so the wait wasn't more than 15 minutes. These days, who knows.

The boats are a nice change of pace...and we love being dropped off that the International Gateway...I'd definitely recommend you give it a try!

We took this ride from MGM to Epcot last week and Loved it! It was very relaxing. I almost had DH convinced to stop at Boardwalk and walk around, but then he didn't go for it!:mad:

In mgm, if you are outside the main gates, facing back into mgm, the boat launches are to your right, down the sidewalk. (You have to actually leave MGM to get the boat.)

Do you mean, how long does it take to walk to the boat launch from MGM? If that is the question, it takes just a couple of minutes. You can see it from the main gates. It's not far at all - no farther than walking to some of the busses.:p

I'm sorry - I wasn't clear. I meant to walk from MGM to World Showcase at Epcot. Is that an insane idea, or a 25 minute walk (which beats the bus)!

Yes, you could walk to Epcot and it would take about 25-30 mins. We walk to MGM when we stay at the Boardwalk and its about a 15 min walk. Its a very peaceful and relaxing walk. Have fun.

The walk from MGM to Epcot can certainly be done in 25-30 minutes with one caveat: don't make a refreshment stop along the way on the Boardwalk ;) . You will pass the Big River brewpub, the ESPN club, and the vendors along the BW. I have to add 10 minutes to the trip whenever I stop for a cold brew.
