I had read on another board that the credits for the Disney Dining Plan are saved to your room key. How does it work for Fort Wilderness guest? We can still get the Dining Plan, right?
I know many guests stay at FW and cook their own meals at the campground. This was our initial plan too, but after doing the math for the meals we planned on eating out the DDP might pay for itself.

You still get a room key when staying at the campground in your RV or tent. Although you don't have a "room" to open you still need it for many things.
You need it for
Extra Magic Hour
Dining Plan
Park Tickets (if that applies)
Charging Things Back to Your Room
and most important
The Comfort Station Doors from midnite to 6am!!!!

Can you get Free Dining at the campground (pop-up or RV)? That would be almost to good to be true!

They don't offer the FREE dining, but they do have the payed dining plan ( I think it's like 45.00 a person ,a day), we are getting that for our stay next year when we go. :thumbsup2

We did the pay dining plan this year. Although we had planned to cook, we never got around to shopping for any food, LOL! We had also camped/cooked the week before so no guilt.
The plan is ~$38 per adult/day and $11 per child 3-9. We have one kid and one under 3 who didn't get the meal plan. We always had enough to share with her, although we would have been willing to pay out of pocket. It's a lot of food.

We are going to DW in December and have purchased the dining plan. We are senior citizens and I just know that after being in the parks all day, I will not be in the mood to cook and clean up. :cheer2:
