How is the summer college program going?

I know this is the first year of the summer college program. I believe the jobs were only quick service food or maintenace. Would like to hear from anyone who is doing it how it is going, especially the maintenance. My son is interested in possibly doing this next summer after his college freshmen year. Reason thinking about the summer program is that his college as of right now does not give credits for the college program so he doesn't want to miss a semester of school if he doesn't have to. Any info would be appreciated.

i am currently on the summer program. the choices are quick service F&B or custodial. i am doing custodial at Disney MGM Studios. custodial is a tough role but i have made several friends at my job and we are all slowly getting used to it. i think how much work you have to put in also depends on where you are working. the location that i work at is a very busy one so we always have work to do! the stuff we have to do is tough, we are changing the trash all the time, cleaning bathrooms, and even sometimes have to take care of the "protein spills". but we do get to roam independently and go where we want when we want for the most part. we also get to talk to the guests pretty often and many approach us with questions and such. it is not a bad job, but i would definitely say that it isn't for everyone!!

My daughter is currenly summer CP and is doing custodial at DTD. She absolutely loves it. Doesn't complain about the work, she's meeting lots of people and loves that she is able to interact with people all day. She is also enjoying just being there. We go often, and I was afraid that she may lose some of the "magic" we always experience, but I think she's keeping it alive by taking her free time and just being a "tourist" in the parks. She has met some great friends also. :thumbsup2
