taxi from SNA to Paradise Pier

I have been to WDW many times but this is my first time to DL.
I will be arriving Sat. at SNA and will be staying at PP.
I have read that a taxi is about $30-$35 each way.
My question is does the taxi driver give me the rate up front?
If he doesn't what if we get in a traffic jam, could it end up costing $$$?
We have checked into the bus service that leaves every half hr. but it is about the same price as the taxi, so we would like to take the taxi and not wait for the
bus, and the stops it makes along the way.

Ask them before you get in the car for the flat rate. It should be about $36, not including a tip. If you get stuck in traffic on a flat rate trip it wont matter.

Linda is right. Just make sure that as soon as you get in you tell them you want the flat rate. Otherwise they won't give it to you as they will assume you aren't aware one exists and gauge you accordingly! Every time I have taken a cab from one of the Disneyland Resort hotels its been $35, which for my family of four is cheaper than Supershuttle.
