Need Help from Youse College types

Help... my niece has about a half a week to a whole week off between summer sessions.

She & her friends are opting to go to Daytona. Only one of them is 21. This would be one of their first trips on their own... The idea is to go to the beach and MAYBE come to Orlando towards the end. Ignoring the Orlando part what or where would you go for a beach trip? Daytona didn't look so great to me the one time I was there. Your choices a limited by the boundaries of say..St Pete Beach and I-10.

We live in Atlanta metro so anything north of I-10 will probably be places were some of these people have gone as kids.

My suggestion would be honestly to go a bit further south and go to Cocoa Beach instead, my ex and I took a road trip there over spring break and loved it! Also it's much closer to Orlando if they want to go there near the end of the trip (on the way home from our trip we drove over to Orlando just for fun and it was probably less than 1/2 hour away)

new smyrna or cocoa is better. daytona is rednecks and spring break town.
orlando is only 30 min away from both beaches though

they can go to 18 over clubs, then just get guys to buy them drinks, usually how it works

I prefer Melbourne, FL better.... It's way less crowded than Daytona and Cocoa.
