Looking for a good portrait lens

Any recommendations? I have a Tamron 18-200 and love it...but having been looking around for another lens..one for portraits. Any suggestions? Canon??

I agree with Kelly, even though I am not much of a portrait shooter.

The 50mm 1.8 is a great person snapshot lens.
