Disney has stopped showing the Bedtime Stories in the resort rooms. They have also modified the wake up call so that only Stitch's ugly voice wakes you up in the morning.
Many people are upset/disappointed. the stories have been a part of the Magic!
I have an address!!!
PLEASE~! Help bring back the bedtime stories. Write to this address telling them how disappointed/upset you are at the fact that the bedtime stories are no more and you would like Mickey, Minnie and Goofy to wake you up. The CM told me to be sure to include your phone number.

Why would they get rid of the bedtime stories? :sad2: My kids are going to be so disappointed! They still talk about watching those as they were going to bed and were looking forward to watching them when we go in July. Who makes these decisions? :confused3
Thanks for the address. I'll send something out today.

That stinks about the bedtime stories. We didn't use them on our trip but they seem like a nice thing to have available. As far as Stitch, he was the only one who did our wake up calls last July... I thought it's been this way for a long time :confused3

This is SOOO wrong!!! My son loved the bedtime stories when we were there last (he was 4 1/2 on that trip)! We shut off the lights and I sat next to him and rubbed his back as he fell asleep - it was such a nice ending to each day! We are planning a trip in October and he mentioned that he was looking forward to these stories the other day.
I frogot about the "wake up call" feature on the last trip but I was planning to on our next trip.
I really can't see why they would cancel these two items - do they require many manpower hours to maintain or cost that much to provide? Given their new promotion concept of being attentive to customers' needs I would think the last thing they would do is cancel these!!

So, are you going to write? LOL ;)
Please write a letter. Disney listen's, and if enough of us wrote, maybe they will reconsider.

Can't believe it! We were just talking about how we were ALL looking forward to the bedtime stories. Why would they do that? Disney is all about family-friendliness, why change something so good?

They started around 7-8pm and ended I think around 9:30-10PM. Not too sure, because my kids were always asleep before they heard the 2nd story.

An email address would be great. If not, I will try to get a letter off in the next couple of days. DD, 4, loved the bedtime stories. It was a great way to end the day.

I will definitely write a letter. Those bedtime stories were such a wonderful way of gettting DS to wind down after so much excitement. We would all pile into the beds and listen to the stories.
They need to bring back the old cartoon loop also. I think it was channel 98 or something. That was DS's favorite. DH liked it also.
I will definitely write about both of those.

This is a major disappointment!!
How much could it possibly cost them to run these two programs?? For my family, these two things insure that our Disney day starts and ends magically. Somewhere in between it occasionally gets a little rough (overtired, hot, etc) but, that's OK!!

WOW! I just got a phone call from Guest Relations! I had sent my letter via snail mail last week. The woman who called thanked me for taking the time to write and let me know that my letter has been forwarded on to both areas - the resort tv programming folks and the folks who decide on the wake-up calls. Cool! At least someone has seen it. :)

I just emailed a letter to the email address provided by the OP.
I asked them to consider bringing back the bedtime stories as they are tradition for my kids since 2003! And we go 2-4 times a year, so we're at WDW hotels A LOT!!!
Hope this works!!!

Hi this is my first post, even though I am here every day reading. I wanted to let you guys know that I have also emailed Disney to hopefully get the bed time stories back.

And this is my second post...and I will email as well.
I'll make the point that at WDW I don't have all my normal "stuff" - which includes disney things like DVDs, music, books, etc. Once we are in the room, we are somewhat removed from the parks magic, and don't have our "stuff" to fall back on - so it is becomes the one time in our lives when we have the LEAST amount of access to the Disney magic - RIGHT THERE ON THE PROPERTY!
How hard can it be to create 2 weeks worth of bedtime shows and just play the tapes? We won't mind if we hear the same stories on our next trip. And ti doesn't have to be live. :confused3

Hi -
We plan to stay at the Yacht Club for a week this November and I hear the bedtime stories have been discontinued.
Please consider re-instating the stories. The guests are obviously away from home and the children are out of their routine - including their normal access to Disney things like books, CDs and DVDs - the kinds of things they might enjoy before bedtime. It is odd that the one time we have the least access to Disney is before bedtime while on the Disney property.
It doesn't seem (to me) to be difficult to tape maybe 2 weeks worth of bedtime story shows and simply replay them every two weeks - we wouldn't mind hearing the same stories on a later trip anymore than we mind riding the same rides each trip.
Thanks for listening - here's hoping my 5 and 2 year olds can listen to some bedtime stories!

Good! I just got a generic email, at least I believe it to be.
Maybe snail mail is worth more to them than an email. I'll try that too. Thanks.
I sent an email message last week and I too received a call from Guest Relations. He apologized and said they were working on something new for this fall, but told me it would probably not be in place for our Spetember 23-30 trip.
My twins really enjoyed both services when we went in 2004 and will really miss them this time (We are really not big Stitch fans  and will probably just skip the call.)

Disney just called me. I was surprised for the phone call. But I was not happy with what I heard.
Because they reprogrammed their tv programming and because of guests making requests for other things, like information on the resorts they are staying in, disney chose to eliminate bed time stories. That doesn't mean for good, but for now. And instead of one hub controlling all the programs seen at each resort control has been given to each resort respectively. She emphasized my concern got to her and it will go on to the right people to be heard and considered in the future. She did mention a certain website..... but told me although we are being heard, what counts more is the surveys they send out to resorts guests. They send out 200 surveys to past guests from each resort, each month. So, if you happen to be one of the chosen few to get one of those, I suggest you list any and every concern good or bad in that survey. Just thought I'd share. Doesn't look like the bedtime stories are coming back any time soon.
